I'm sorry, but saying someone is innocence because the show integrity is NOT a valid excuse for one, if it is not good enough for the other. I also notice that you have no defense for the second name.

Is there a category on DMOZ for Smoke and Mirrors? Come on nebuchadrezzar help fight for transparency. HELP FIX THE ODP! it'll be much more rewarding then hanging out here bickering with someone as seemingly closed minded as you.

I mean, look at his complaints and arguments about the project and yourself. Fix the issues and he won't have a leg to stand on. Help make a stand against the filth and spam listed in DMOZ and you'll be held up as a hero by everyone but that small group of corrupted editors.

And if you do not agree there are at least some corrupt editors, then explain the filth and spam. Don't point the finger at anyone else for this, as the finger has already been pointed.

 

Just to be clear on 2 points:

1) There are many people who have become editors for abusive reasons. Quite a few of them have been caught and removed. But some will no doubt remain. And that may well include some editalls, metas, and admins. And any information about that abuse would be gratefully accepted from what ever source, even from Julian. That there is some high level conspiracy to overlook abuse is something that is not supported by the evidence that I am privy too. And I would be prepared to admit I am wrong should that be the case.

2) Whereas you appear to be an intelligent person I have no interest in convincing you of anything, nor do I seek your approval in any way. I have seen what you have posted here about your intentions towards the directory prior to becoming an editor, and I have seen what you put in your application to become an editor and have formed an opinion about you accordingly.

 

With the information that you are privy too, what is your opinion about Jezebel and phone mistress? Do you consider them upstanding, honest editors?

 

Not sure I know them Julian, they are Adult editors I believe. Did they offend you when you were trying to get your porn sites listed or something?

I once said that if DMOZ was truly a problem that Webmasters should stand up against it in Unison. I still feel that way, though if you look closely you'll notice that the place was down at the time and not all that was being shared with the general public. If you expected me to be a shiny happy person over a broken site maybe you should re-think your submission policies and start ading in half-finished sites? OH NO WAIT... Editors have already stood up against the half-assed webmasters in unison. Gods forbid the webmasters stand back up. So yeah, think what you wish, but for all of the points I have ever brought up it's really odd there is only one that editors point too.

It's odd that of all the points anyone brings up the only defense of DMOZ is "I don't have to prove anything"
