Content network is great if you can find specific pages also hot spots and have fun with the cpm and achieve around a 20-30% ctr
Here's some tips for you guys. I am an adwords pro. Site targeting is one of the most cost effective methods to advertise on google and can be the most targeted if you do these things. Always search for long tail keywords in your niche. Say your selling a spanish language course. Then type in a keyword phrase like "learn to speak spanish fluently online". The first 2 or 3 organic results that come up should be the only thing you look at. Click those links and see if they have adsense on the site. Good chance they will since the site owner knows they are missing out on free money by not having that adsense there at the top of the page even. Copy the exact url and save it. Repeat for the top 3 organic results. Then repeat using other long tail key word phrases only. Add these urls in your site targeting box. Also, in your ads, and you should always be testing 3-4 ads per campaign, try to make the title of your ad the exact long tail keyword phrase you used to search for. This way, your title will show up bold and stick out over your competitors. If you bid 5.00 per thousand impressions and had your ad so targeted at the exact keywords the searcher is searching for, your conversion rates can be as high as 8% easily and you could be paying less than 3 cents a click. I could go on for days. Hope that helped.
Nice tips, but normally the page having good SERP already have their own product or affiliate products put the web master . So make sure we can find a profitable site for us..
Sorry I disagree on those 3. Especially 1 & 2 makes me a 6 figure income. It all depends on how you make your money when the visitor lands at your destination. nudge nudge
i like the broad match however i agree that for newbies site targeted and content network should be left until you get much more experience
well i dont agree with this. im using content network and targeted campaign and i got a good conversions. it is always depend on niche and how you execute your campaign.
You said most sites already having a good serp will have their own products and affiliate products. While they may have their own products, it also proves to be a successful method you should investigate before knocking. I make 7 figures a year doing what I do. I know what works and accept criticism but my own income is all I need to know I am doing it right.
If I could edit the original post I could... the first 2 tips were meant for newbies. subids are a way to track conversions in Azoogle.
The content network works for some areas, and not for others. I manage dozens of different accounts, varying from mortgages to office supplies. Some campaigns are profitable on the search network only. Some campaigns are profitable on the search and content networks. Some campaigns are profitable on the content network only. I would agree with Entrep that as a general rule, it's a good idea to try the search network first, at least until you have some experience, as you can get some spectacularly bad results on the content network if you are new to it.
This is right on...But 1 & 2 I DON'T disagree with...I rather think they need to be used wisely...but sparingly.
Actually Google's Content Network & Site Targeted campaigns are ideal if you're sending visitors to a landing page where you make money from their clicks on ads (like in arbitrage or domain parking or even lead offers). When you dont require then to hand over a credit card to get paid.
I agree with all except not expecting to make a profit on the first day. I DO expect to make a profit on the first day otherwise, Im working for free. It all settles on where you set your goals. I expect to make a profit in the first hour infact and so far I do pretty good at reaching that goal. This is really easy to attain if you research the market first.
On some campaigns I have seen the same as you and at a fraction of the cost of search. Sure its def not as targeted, but if you make an interesting ad that is targeted towards buyers/people ready to take action they do very well. For some other sites, I found that context was just a bunch of clicksters trying to make the 0.1 cent per click add up..
