I need a good merchant account..?

Does anyone know of a great merchant account and gateway? I am familiar with using PlugnPay as a gateway but am open to any new ideas and suggestions.

Also, one last thing...is it true that all merchant accounts require you to have rendered your services within 90 days? If Yes, then how is it possible to offer a service that lasts 6 months?

I appreciate any advice or help.

Paypal's rates are way to high. You should really shop around for the best rates. I see no reason for anyone to give away so much money to paypal's high rates and fees. You should get your own merchant account and pay a lot less. 2.9% + $0.30 USD is what paypal is taking from every transaction. Our rate is half that. Shopping around and comparing rates would be your best bet.

I received this link from a friend..can you take a look at it to see if this is a good deal or not? Since I am a new start-up company I am trying to keep my costs as low as possible. The only type of account I would need is to be able to accept online credit cards/checks.

If you don't like to use paypal check with moneybookers, worldpay, chronopay, 2checkout, google checkout etc depending on your need, all are reputed one.

I don't remember the exact rate. it was about 2 years ago. but at that time, we been checking several companies, they had the best rate. unfortunately my company decided to stay with manual process.

    fsbotopics,

You should be able to locate a merchant account provider who is able to offer you authorize.net with rates that should be much lower than that of Paypal. Paypal is an OK option for accepting paypal. The fees are simply too high for their product that acts like a merchant account.

A couple of people have already suggested companies that could offer a good rate with a gateway product to work with your store.

My advice. Find someone who is experienced with integration and can support you if you have problems with your gateway and/or store.

PM me if you want a name/number.
