My First ever template :)

Hi guys,

Well today i was searching DP for something new or just looking here and there and saw a thread of someone looking for sponsers for his template that is a blog template which inspired me to make something like a template.. so i decided to do it right away. I just now finished making a template from a source tutorial. and got it finished now. here i just want your opinion on how you like it and how can i improve it. remember this is my first ever template never made any in past... not new to PS ...

That's a nice template, Muneeb. Add more sample text to the main content area so that we can see it's full beauty

It looks okay but would look better with another color added to your color scheme

 

Quite good for your first attempt, keep at it.

 

Ok il be honest here and say i don't like it. Its quite dark, basic, things don't lignup properly (But i guess that could be fixed when coding) and that font sucks. Don't get me wrong, you did better than me on my first try... I'm just being honest here.

Yeah i just got many quotes on the lignup problem and also the color scheme but ... actually as this was my first attemp so .....

I will try my best is the next one coming soon

 

it looks cool, simple and with a "semi-professional look"

try doing one with brown and dark yellow coolors

Pretty nice for a first time try but could have been better.

Try add some colors to your templates. Keeping some select colors isn't really liked by majority of people.

Also always use standard fonts. Makes it look more professional and easy for the coder.

Not bad at all for your first attempt - good use of color and positioning - you're definitely on the right track

My advice for improvements/modifications if you're looking to make any:

- Try to use more standard/user-friendly fonts for the content areas, ie menu links, footer text... basically anything that will be displayed as actual text on the site rather than a graphic
- Vertical alignment in the headers seems little off; maybe try turning on guides/smart-guides in photoshop and using those to help you to line everything up

These aren't criticisms, as your design is much better than most peoples first attempts - just thought you might benefit from a little friendly advice =)
