PayPal Scam - Sending and taking back the money.

Their is actually a member on Digital Point that has done this to me twice, using two different AIM screen names. What he does is try to buy your MySpace accounts. He give's you the money in your paypal account, then once you give him the account he takes it right back out. The second time I transfered the money to a different account before he had the oppertunity to take it out, which just put me in a -400$ balance. How does this scam work and how can it be stopped? Also, is their any way to get my account balance back to 0? Thanks, I apreciate the help.

 

u will need to pay back those amount to pp to get back to 0, i would suggest you to call paypal. i think he paid you through a creditcard and once he got the Myspace accounts he charged back.

 

Yeah, their is no way I am paying back paypal. Also, the second time he showed me a list of credit cards =-/

 

You lose. You will always lose if you sell and the buyer chargeback through Paypal. You better begin to buy and to chargeback yourself to get your money back....

Minimise the chances of something going wrong by only dealing with reputable (high +ve iTrader, high rep, long standing) members here. Aim for members who have more to lose in terms of reputation than gain financially in terms of scamming you.

Fortunately it's never happened to me, but it doesn't bode well being in debt to PayPal. I'd say it'd be difficult to get back in good standing with them. Which member is doing this to you? PM me their name so I can check up on them and pay them a visit.

 

List his AIM usernames, and emails that the payments came from.

 

And his DP username as well.

 

This thread is useless without their username.

I remember reading somewhere that a way to stop these chargeback scams is to request the buyer to do a chargeback right after you recieve the money. Then tell the buyer to cancel the chargeback so you would recieve the money. PayPal only allow the buyer the cancel once so a second chargeback will not be accepted and you're safe with the money.

I've never tried this before so please don't quote me on this.

You do not request a chargeback from pp, you ask the buyer to do so.

this guy said i scammed him. It seemed weired and I gave him a refund. Now he is saying i scammed him. How can you scam someone when they have the money.
