I reached the 7th position in google search for e very competitive keyword across all DCs and was hoping to get good traffic. According to adwords traffic tool i should be getting a huge ammount of hits, in the reality its only 10% of it :) I wonder which traffic estimation tools are the best?

The google adwords is pretty good, but it doesn't give a number just whether it is low, average, or high.

I think they are all high compared to actual traffic. They also might count traffic not unique hits.

adwords estimates for you, doesnt give you a prediction that is correct 100% - i've used it long enough to know its not 100% correct lol, otherwise i'd be getting 500 more visitors a day

Correct? 10% from what they predict. Looks like a useless tool to me :D

Your on the position No7 which is actually not a good place to be in while comparing your stats. Put it this way. The traffic stats for your keyword "X" if indicated is 10,000, then the traffic is around

    50% for the First place
    40% For the second place
    30% for 3rd
    30% for 4th
    20% for 5th
    20% For 6th
    25% for 7th
    30% for 8th
    35% for 9th
    35% for 10th

Well its not surely the straight shot figure and is really arbitary. But dont even expect 100 % of the result to come to you even if you are in the first place. It doesnt work out.

(the above figures were pulled out from the stats where a range of keywords are topping on google. But the figures are only from one website and i dont have a chance of analyzing more than one)

    Hope this helps

Yeah, that is clear enough, who doesn't know the difference between 1 and 7 :), but using Google traffic estimation tool i set up a bid to see the 7th position traffic.

i agree with the above ruffly estimations, the position in the top 10 plays a big part of how many hits you will get as well as the title and description witch is looking as the advertising text for your website in the list.
