I am a college student and this year I live in an apartment that's a town away from the college I attend. I am thinking that I may regret not living on campus so next year we are getting an on campus apartment. A lot of students around here say, "You HAVE to live on campus at least one year to get the college experience." I was wondering how true this is. So, what do you guys think?
No, I think it's better to stay home. It's cheaper. Though, I don't really care about the 'college experience'. I don't party, and I'm not going to college to socialize, just trying to get a degree so I can move to Tokyo. So it depends on what you want from college. If you just want the education, then you don't need to live on campus. If you want all the crazyness, parties, and people puking all over your room - then yeah, stay on campus.
I don't live at home. We actually rented out an apartment on the south side of a nearby town. It would actually be cheaper to get a place on campus. Although, if we did this that would be our address. My parents live all the way up in Michigan, lol. We'd be living in the mature student housing, near the graduate hall. It's an apartment building where older students with families live.
i regret not living in dorm..it is not just about the party. It is much easier to start networking...there are crazy stuff happened in campus but i always miss it because i wasn't there i vote yes
Hmmm.... moving out near campus is just as good But if you had the funds, I think it would be worth it (socially ) however... 3rd - 4th year is a bit too old for residence imo
I'm 22 so I wouldn't qualify for a undergraduate dorm (which I wouldn't want anyway) My options are the graduate hall or the married student apartments... which is a good possibility although we wouldn't be married it is still allowed because of our age.
The college experience is expensive and dangerous. If you move on campus, be smart and be careful. Don't live on campus just for the experience. Live wherever is cheapest. If you don't you'll be paying off student loans for the rest of your life...
I live 10 minutes walk away from my uni but i pretty much live on the campus anyway... Well, the student union bar and club to be precise. You just get to know people quicker if you live on the campus. Having your own place is less hassle though.
I think being on campus at least a year is a good idea. You'll meet alot more people than you would otherwise.
