    I own one shop of movie DVD's, but recently I came across one street shop selling latest movie dvd's for less than 1$. I wonder whether this kind of piracy will stop someday. Though it doesn't affect me directly but it is attacking morals.

    Even softwares have worst situation, people just share them with having license.
    what do you say > Do you have any full proof idea.

    I am also 100% it is not the only country which allows it. Most LEDC or other country's which don't have many computers, have no laws enforced upon them because they just didn't bother. It is, in their eyes, it is pointless to create laws about computers in LEDC countries because they;

    1. Cannot enforce
    2. For a minority (the rich) who they rely on for money.

    Right now it is very hard to control privacy of all types (Software, video etc). Though Companies & Governments are trying hard to control this but the main reason for piracy is high prices of software and other items.

    Example: In my country a legal copy of Windows XP is around 6K which is a good bit of amount (considering that 30K is a good monthly pay of an officer) so why would people spend that much money and buy legal copy when they can get it for free? One way to control piracy is to drop the prices and rest via legal actions. This is just one big reason for piracy.

    I don't think companies will be able to control this piracy thing within next 5 years (maybe more).

    as long as prices are too high piracy will keep on going.

    The only way to stop it->
    need an online registration, a cracked sw would not be compatible with original´s.

    Lower the prices and people will stop buying pirated stuff especially if there is little difference in the price.

    It's not legal but laws and their enforcement is not strict + it's so wide spread that when branko crvenkovski (mkd president)buys pirated software who woulden't buy it.

    Anyways i think its a good thing. I mean if you look at it you'll need to spend at least $1000 bucks on needed software.
    For example firewall, antivirus, defragmenter, antispyware, graphic design all those would cost more than $500. Not to mention that photoshop on it's own costs $300+, microsoft office costs $300+ on it's own and so on...

    No it is not legal. THe standard prohibits us from buying a 20$ movie. But still, once in a while, someone gets busted. There are not too many illegal shops.
