Twin bombs kill 42 in southern India

HYDERABAD, India - A pair of bombings minutes apart tore through a popular family restaurant and an outdoor arena on Saturday night, killing at least 42 people in this southern Indian city plagued by Hindu-Muslim tensions.............

Officials have not publicly said who they think is behind the bombings. But local media — citing unnamed officials — reported Sunday that authorities believe Islamic extremists were responsible..................

in Hyderabad, Muslims make up 40 percent of the population of 7 million.............http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070826/ap_on_re_as/india_blasts

Seems like the same old scenario. For some these are freedom fighters. For others ....

Wait until they make up 90% of the population. Bush then will go there and make a public statement: "India must give independence for the freedom loveing muslims of Hyderabad. If I can give independence to the freedom lovers in Kosovo, why shouldn't I give freedom to the peace loving muslim Hyderabadies?"

    P.S.
    Wait a minute.
India has nukes and India is not as small as Serbia to be easily bombed to destruction. All Bush will do is some farting from Washington against India and that's it.

First of all, this act is disgusting and ruthless. I have seen the pictures of the dead, it's really sad.

Second, dear OP, why do you bold that part? And why do you come to a conclusion like an ignorant fool and blame Muslims for this. So what, if they make 40% of the city. Do you remember the bombings that took place in a Mosque, in that same city? I hope you do..

Anyways, this act is disgusting. The people behind this will burn in hell.

I feel sorry for the death and destruction caused by any violent act.
Whoever bombed the Mosque will get what they deserve.

About the 40% ratio once it goes to like 90% Islamic fundamentalists show up.

There are many muslims who are peaceful and get deeply touched when somebody from their religion commits such acts.

As a matter of fact Suni and Shia are blowing up their Mosques and Churches as well.

When will all this stop? When all religions Denounce VIOLENCE. And apparently this must start from all Mosques and Islamic schools Period.
Should I add also that US must stop her interference in other countries as well, in addition to stopping her aggressions on other countries that have not attacked US?

As a Muslim, I know your right. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where the anger is sparked from. If a country invades other countries (with same religion) there WILL be violence in the world. Why? Because a religion like Islam isn't just a religion, every single Muslim around the world cares about each other. It's a universal community. There's no wonder why there are so many suicide bombings. Heck these extremists count for only >1%, but if the US and its allies keep on adding fuel to the fire, this will only get worse :(.

so what did the US do in India to "add fuel to the fire??" Its so easy to blame everything on George Bush...I can't wait to see who gets blamed once he is out of office.

Well generally, the pro-Bush contingent on here refer to Radical Muslims not as nationals but one large religious group.

So what I think he was suggesting is that events in Iraq and elsewhere could be feeding radical Islam in other regions.

I mean, it's not that big a stretch when Al Queda is supposedly everywhere, and several posters have devoted thousands of words in posts to proving Islam is a religion of hatred.

Knowing a little of the history of partition, India has always been a nation of religious violence. If the various groups could live together peacefully, there never would have been a Pakistan, the Sikhs would not be calling for their own state of Khalistan etc. The consensus seems to be that they are better separated and self governing than in one big melting pot or cultural mosaic.

I agree about India, it has always had violence, especially since the muslims invaded that first time...also, the pro-terrorist group on here (also the anti-Bush group) would rather see Islam as a religion of peace that does no wrong...that way Islam will just "leave us alone and we can live in harmony"...death by the sword anyone?

That may be what some people promote, but in reality, many of us know Muslims who are sincere with their religion and not radical extremists or violent.

This all goes to Ron Paul's take on US foreign policy, the one that Rudy Giuliani so roundly dismissed as preposterous. The 9/11 commission report, and CIA verify that US intervention in the middle east has "blowback" consequences, not just in America, but also in other nations abroad.

It's like an ecosystem. Nature strives for balance, but if you kill off or disrupt one aspect of the food chain, the results cascade to other segments.

Pakistan and Bangladesh separated from India, but now the left over muslims seem to want another splitting.
As one Palestinian told me: "You don't know us, if we don't fight the Israelis we start fighting each other." I've heard similar statements from two other palestinians as well.
Pakistan is mostly muslim country, but as you know they have troubles as well.

M5Love, I am trying to understand what you are saying. Unless I am misreading you, you are saying that a "righteous anger" has brought on such violence. If so, I am sick of this crap, this apologetic for violence, heaped upon innocents, in the name of an "injured religion."

I do not condone this war we are in, I do think we have too long ignored the grievances of too many, but let's be clear: the assholes committing these acts care for nothing other than the destruction of all but those enslaved to their extemely atavistic and myopic worldview. Bin Laden doesn't want my land, my wealth, my culture. He wants my end; and if you hold to any semblance of tolerance with those outside your religion, he wants your end as well.

Additionally, please tell me - if "every single member" of this "universal community" - if the ummah, in unison, "cares about each other," why is there not universal peace between muslims, and a unified response in condemnation when Al Qaeda and its ilk murders muslims as indiscriminately as it murders the infidel?

Bin Laden, and all extremist bastards raining down murder in the name of obeisance to Wahabist fascism, can go straight to hell. No excuses.

Before you decide to post further about muslims. Has it been confirmed that the bombs were caused by muslims?

Every country is full of trouble. Bombs, murder, rape, violence, corruption, guns, invasion of other countries and killing of innocent people etc.

In regards to what you heard as you mentioned above, all I can say is that the world is full of rumours. Hearing, seeing and reading are all different

gworld has explained what I was going to say.

northpoint, I have in all of my previous posts have said that I am against such acts. I am no apologetic. I know that the Bin Ladens and Bushes don't care for our lives and that's why I call them and their little bastards the scum of this earth. I do not support these idiots. These extremists.

You have to understand that no 1 civilization has been able to live in peace within. The same goes for Islam. There are some that will do anything to disrupt peace. (and don't call me "apologetic" here) I am just stating what's fact.

Also, there have been countless of condemnations from the national level to the local Imam. Don't come to me saying we have not condemned anything. Go to your local media and blame them for not airing it.

Again, I do NOT support any bin ladens.
