    Hi guys,
Google has just finished updating its directory. If your site is listed in the directory, look at the pagerank, It has a current pagerank value that is not yet displayed in the toolbar.
I checked that one of my site got promoted to pr7 while most of my competitors were downgraded :)
And by the way, stop listening to this nonsense that Google will no longer display PR value in the toolbar. PR has become a commodity with guys like you and me going nuts about it every 3 months. Google would have to be insane to give that up.

Oh, to be a noobie again! Of course, it has. It's been a long time since Google finally decided to update its directory (over 600 days). The point is that Google has updated all the website already but you can't see the uypdate in the toolbar. We are waiting for the pr export.
For those who don't know how it works: Google updates the sites and then exports the results to the directory, afterwards it exports the PR value to the toolbar.
If you are listed in the directory then you will see the updated pagerank :)
    Adding info for grg: http://directory.google.com/

If in the google directory( http://directory.google.com/ )your site has the same pagerank, it means that it hasn't been promoted or demoted. To some people that is excellent news. I suggest you look at other websites listed there and then you'll see that there is a difference in some cases between the pagerank of these sites displayed in the toolbar and the pagerank visible in the directory. Directory shows the current (updated) PR.

I got many but this is just one of them:
This is the Polish Google directory (English has been updated too)
    http://www.google.com/Top/World/Polska/Nauka_i_edukacja/Instytucje/
Look at this section and the pr next to it
When you click at the adress http://edukacja.info.pl you'll see that the site is pr 6 and in the directory the current pr=4
the same goes for the site above it

    Even PR5 according to

    http://www.digpagerank.com/index.php?url=edukacja.info.pl&dc=18

You are right, there are some differences, but wouldn't be so sure with the conclusion. IMHO.

    Regards.

This directory looks to be just a listing from DMOZ to me.

People forgot how it is because everybody thought that Google decided to discard its directory. The last directory update was almost 2 years ago and now Google decided to revive it (to my surprise).
It was updated about a week and a half ago. I know it contains the newest data because one of my sites wasn't listed and now it is. Another one displays a higher pr.
So, all those sites that have a dmoz listing could check their pr update in the directory now:)
@kentuckyslone you're right, it's the only dmoz copy recognized by Google

    @ FREE BET - Yes.
In the past before each PR update Google updated its copy of the dmoz directory. It started doing that again.
So, yes, if you are listed in dmoz then you are listed now in Google directory and you can see your updated PR

if you want to get listed in dmoz it's pretty easy. E-mail th editor responsible for the category you want to submit your site to. Usually, they review it and won't make you any problems provided that your site meets certain standards. If you category doesn't have an editor - you're screwed :)
