Over the past year the price of petrol here in Australia has become ridiculous!

We use to beable to get it under the dollar, now we are happy to beable to get it under $1.35....The governement even went as far as to offer a rebate for people who chose to convert there car to gas!

What is the prices everywhere else I wonder?

We're being gouged everywhere friend. That's what happens during a war. Inflation of staple goods and services.

We are currently 2.47 Australian Dollars a Litre of fuel on average.

But in the UK we pay more for anything than nearly every country in the world because we love being taxed to death.

It's not so bad in the United States. Everyone likes to complain about gas prices, but I think it's still lower here than most of the world, aside from oil-producing countries.

yep even the price of fuel rouse 2X in about 3years in the states the fuel prices are cheap.

Here in Portugal we pay for 1liter of gasoline 95oct 1.38€, 1.5€ for 1liter of 98oct and 1.1€ for diesel.

i really doubt it, cars are EXTREMELY cheaper, houses are equal (or less due to being more distant from cities) food is probably the same as long you wont go to luxury dinners. What´s probably more expensive is health plans/insurance, which basically dont exist. Wages are a LOT higher too so i think thats not correct.

Yeah our food prices have gone up dramatically also aswell as rent and house prices... It is sad that despite the huge price increases on everything we need as nessecities our minimum wage still stays the same..

This explains why we have so much people living beyond there means and so much crime to try and provide for the absics..

supply and demand....look who has the supply and look who has the demand...plus, oil prices have never adjusted properly due to inflation (it came close in the early 80's)...now that it has caught up, everyone complains. Want to save gas? Go buy a bicycle.
