Vista is best MS os so far
Mac OS X is awesome but Macs OVERPRICED
    Love but too exspensive
I have an MCSE on NT4
Have worked with computers professionally for over 13 years.
    Love Macs
    but run windows
And I like Vista , It is FAR from perfect but it is good
Make sure you get a very good VIDEO card Aero is VERY graphics intensive!

i got new PC and i installed Vista Biz

it's working fine. and really fast. i think if you have latest hardware then Vista is the best. but for old ones XP rocks

The main problem with vista is you need a lot of ram and a very fast processor to make it work and not all new computers have the hardware to run vista properly.

No, it's not. Better hardware doesn't compensate for bloat.

Because when I switched to XP from 98, I had to dump all my peripherals and a lot of my software and I'm not going through that again. Besides, if Vista is just some resource sucking eye candy, then I don't need it.

I wish I had a copy to try it out before I bought it ... any trial versions, perhaps I should just wait till I need a new computer first

I have no problems running vista, I have an XP desktop and a vista laptop. I can WPA2 encrypt my wireless home network no problems.

I would like the same sort of searchable start menu in XP that vista has - I have really come to enjoy using that.

Only negative points I would say about vista so far are the winsxs folder that wastes a LOT of diskspace - in my case 4GB, while trying to find out how to clear this up I hear some people have had 12 GB taken up by this.

The other negative is the amount of RAM used up - I thought 1GB for the laptop would be plenty as my 2GB ram XP desktop never gets above half way even with combinations of dreamweaver, counterstrike, photoshop running. But these seemingly wasted resources on vista are used in part for pre-caching and other means to make things run faster so its not all bad.

And yes, vista is a bloody nice looking interface for an OS. Given that I got a free harddrive upgrade on the laptop from Dell, a couple of GB down the toilet isn't that much of a pain in the ass.

If you're using GPRS then, yes, i'm sure the speed of vista feels right at home to you.

It's slow, painfully buggy for people like me who want to do advanced stuff, and lacks features that should have made it better then xp making the price unjustified.

Vista is to expensive. I know Microsoft needs to make money after wasting so much money on building it but they should price it accoridingly.

Drivers on Vista work perfect. I'm running programs on Vista that would give me driver errors on XP. In terms of safe IE7 and Windows Defender which come with Vista are perfect. No need for 3;rd party antivirus.

The only thing I would suggest instead of upgrading to Vista if you have the money just buy a new system with Vista preinstalled. You can get something with 2GB of RAM for under $800 USD. I don't see why so many people are against it. Its the best OS yet.
