Any success with "buy me a beer" plugin?

Just curious - did you get any success with this plugin (or similar ones)?
Can you post your stats?

 

I was wondering the same question, was thinking about implementing it on my blog as my first way of income just to see how it goes. Would be interested in hearing other peoples experiences.

 

Good question..but i think..great bloggers like John Chow would be getting good $$ from it..

 

Why should people like JC get donated beer, he earns a very healthy living! It's the poor students like myself who really need this

 

I think this plugin is a money maker only for probloggers or for experienced ones

 

yeah experienced magic of this plugin when i implemented in blogger. but now this is old idea. just earned 5$ out of it.

 

Personally I don't like seeing this Plugin on blogs. Maybe if the donations were for a good cause it'd be more appropriate, so instead of "buy me a beer" the tagline read "donate a dollar to charity".

For me, there's just an air of desperation with this one.

Agreed. It is somewhat intrusive and offensive to me. Don't get me wrong, I love beer! The only thing to fear is running out of beer! LOL

 

At least it's an honest tagline. I'd rather see "Buy me a beer" or "Buy me lunch" Than "make a donation" when it would be going toward beer or lunch anyway?

 

Some people always have problems asking for money. Whether on a blog or in business. IF someone likes it they can buy you a beer... I like the plugin personally

 

i happen to like that one too, better than asking for a donation. one of the blogs i read has one that says " buy me a cup of coffee". i think its clever...

Actually, since many of us have seen this plugin in one variation or another, how many people have actually given money to a blogger with this plugin?

I never wanted to use it, but I got an idea on how it would fit nicely into the theme of my blog, so I went for it.

So it's kind of neat if you use it in a novel way, like John Cow does "buy me milk."

 

Only people that get LOTS of traffic that are not regular readers like Chow make anything off of it. PLUS you need people with paypal accounts.

 

Its acutally very simple to just add the code into your website or blog.I have drawn out the "buy me a beer "code so that people can easily rip it from and get it fixed on their blog.

There is no need to buy me a beer, but you can actually use tags like buy me lunch, coffee, or buy a dollar to charity!

 

i've had it on my blog since the start and ive had nothing...

 

I like the idea behind the plugin and love to use it, but still haven't earned anything from it
Just kept it for fun
