Hello there I am new to this whole search engine optimization thing...I am building a new site that is a technology blog...my question is, is writing keyword rich articles and a site filled with good content good enough for a page rank? If not what else should i do to get search engine traffic that would be free or very cost effective.
Yes, you can achieve PR with articles alone provided that they are in nice PR sites but bogs is definately right about the mixture, and articles would be a ton of work if that was your sole source for your links!! There are easier links to balance your backlink portfolio but articles are IMPORTANT! The biggest PR and position builder that I have experienced is social bookmarks!! Just DO NOT go to a service that will blast you in a ton of different social bookmark sites unless the descriptions are all different or that might HURT you!!
don't a lot of social book marking sites contain a no follot thing...I want to get search engine traffic, so you are saying submitting to directoris and other sites plus a lot of keywords rich content will get me search engine traffic?
C the problem is my last site nocostsms.com I spent days building backlinks and posting in social bookmarking sites and I can't even find the site in the search engines
If you get qualtiy backlinks pointing to your site and keep the content of your site good and unique then google will assign you a PR and a ranking as long as they think it is worthy. It can take time for google to give you a ranking so just give it time and keep improving your site and the seo work on it.
The key to PR is to get good back links not just any links. Look for free directories that have some age and some PR. Also if exchanging links, look for sites related to your niche. If you can afford it, purchase some higher PR links from related sites and well established directories. Articles are great for traffic building but often times they do not carry much weight for PR. The key to success is to concentrate on content and building traffic which articles will help with. Worry about PR after you have established a great site and start to get some good traffic. At that point you can worry how high your PR is. JMO
If you write good articles, people will link to those and because of the numerous incoming links, your blog will have PR. It all boils down to links.........
Backlinks help you achieve good pr and Good Content can help you in getting natural links and will help in gaining PR . Concentrate on building links too while writing good content .
okay see I just want a LOT of search engine traffic for my new site....i think I would be interested in acquiring a pr in the near future
