    in your opinion

for a large project perhaps you may need this approach but for medium and small you wont need half of them. ie drop financial and billy the bad ass and dont put down directory submission its an integral part of solid link building. they will need other knowledge granted but you need the basics too. for those who know anythuing about SEO long term is the only term too there are not any really good quick fixes for SEO only the long haul.

so billy the badass programmer is the most important in your eyes along with the financial guy.

lets say for instance i want to make a site selling widgets and i need 1 sales page plus a contact me and about us.

is it still good to give 35% to the programmer? what about next year when the programmer hasnt done anything for 11 months should they still get more than the marketers who have worked through all of it?

you cannot apply classic business rules to this type of work. or you end up with 2 people doing the work and a million F*****g consultants feeding off your profits.

give it a label and call it communism if thats what you need to do but i will split every bit of profit down equally as the whole wouldnt work without 1 part.

i need a site to be built without the designer / website coder i could not do this.
they need graphics and may not be able to do them . how good is a website with no graphics?
the most beautiful website in the world is no good without visitors.
the visitors cannot buy what is not there so we need experience in the field.

now if you take one of those away then the whole thing falls apart. no one is more important than the whole in ths case.

plus i dont need a financial person to make me an llc as im not american and i dont have to worry quite so much about getting sued. besides how difficult is

profit -10% for future projects / amount of people involved.

sounds pretty easy to me. i just saved 35% by not having a consultant. :D

how much reward does each person deserve?

if you think a programmer deserves more than marketing how come most people dont understand SEO ? that falls under marketing which your paying 20% to if i was an SEO getting all of the traffic to your site i dont think i should be payed less than some finance monkey! you cant learn SEO at college. at least not here anyway.

SEO is actually quite simple once you know what your doing. i do and i am happy i can get whatever project we undertake where it needs to be in the natural rankings

    Startup costs

Domain name - donated by me x 2
    hosting - already hosted
thats why we are all here and not in dragons den. we dont need any other costs than a domain and hosting as everything else will be covered by our members skills ie design graphics and marketing.

agreed but to be honest this isnt a perfect world and we dont have the chance to hand pick everyone we would like. especially not and have them happy to work for a percentage share instead of an upfront payment as most people cant see the big picture

i dont really know what communism is but you seem to and others do so keep it up if you need to label it as that.

until the doctors rubbish gets left on the driveway.......

and if it does step in and anyone thinks they are being treated unfairly then they are free to leave.

i am not begging conning or in any way misleading anyone in my intro to this . I have 2 domains which we can setup websites on and make money. i know this will make money because i work in the industry and i know what the affiliates get paid (no its not info products). I am crap at designing websites so i want someone who can take what we decide and make it real.

marketing by 1 person is great if 12 do it dont you think it would result in better results?

if you want to join me then please post here or PM me if you dont fair enough thats up to you.

the profits will be shared out equally between us after 10% has been taken out and put aside for future projects.

if you want more than an even share go somewhere else as i wont budge on this.

hope to speak to you all soon

that was a long post wasnt it

I am truly greatful you replied to every part of my post. Not frequently will people do this and I appreciate the candid conversation in a civil manner. Rep heading your way for the effort you gave. You gained respect in my book.

1st off, I want everyone viewing this thread to know that in my opinion (which is not very important), combining resources to rapidly build web sites is an excellent idea. All the big marketers do it on some level. I have been stuck too many times in a large project that took me longer than my attention span wanted it to. Completing it was absolute murder. By working as a team and moving forward you are able to build a site a day, which will keep you busy AND will avoid placing all your eggs in one basket. The more comfortable you become as a team, the more efficient you will be and the more progress will be made.

I'm only going to comment on some points because on many you hit the nail on the head.

I've got a community I'm developing that is similar to my above thoughts, interest can be shown through PM as I don't want to hi-jack the thread and honestly, the site is not 100% yet so no link would be posted anyways.

In the end, I think turbosatan is an innovator in this field and if we all worked together like he is suggesting we could truly make the internet a better (and more profitable) place. I strongly encourage you all to join him in his journey, he is going to be a successful individual.

I don't think there'll be problem getting 10 people. The problem is getting 10 people who a willing to do the work, especially as it's long term and not a quick buck job.

to be honest things are beggining to come together quite well.

i think this has drawn the interest of the slightly older (or slightly older minded) people who are sick of trying to make a little bit of money using adsense or another craiglist and auction ads idea.

i am certainly looking forward to starting the first project because even if it does crash and burn at least we can learn from it and say we tried.

so far we have graphics people and a couple of other general devs.

i could do with someone with php javascript html knowledge and also people who have good networks of blogs sites and social bookmarkers.

    + any experienced link builders

PM me with stats and previous work

our first meet will be this weekend if everyone can make it. online meet that is.

to be honest this was the first mistake i made.

you cannot properly manage and promote a hundred or more sites just like that.

the way i see things working will be to concentrate on a single site at a time and improve it as much as possible through SEO link building content conversion tracking etc etc until that site converts as many customers as possible and works to its best ability.

then you put in place a strategic plan to keep it ranked at #1 for all the search terms you want it to and you move on to the next site.

this process will take some time for each site and the SEO work in particular will take time as we will be ranking #1 for some difficult search terms. That provides us with the best income from the site.

Also in referwence to the insurance etc and having a group to work from your totally right on that.

it would be stupid not to have an entity to manage this project and i will look at making this a priority to get setup.

workign out the long tail search terms can be done by anyone with a single piece of javascript and a company called hit tail.

i admit it is very useful but again all of this can be done by anyone not striclty a specialised programmer. i can get lontail search terms using a load of free tools on the internet in a few mins and for the industry i will be targetting i have many sources for getting the keywords we need.

A majoirty of the work i want to put into this will be organic rankings. i dont want to spend any money at all if i dont have to as i am sure everyone would be happier with a bigger paycheck and i firmly believe that organic results are the most important.

taking into account the effort that content writing and marketing has to do i believe a straight split is the only answer here.

even with the knowledge i have which i get paid to have by the company i work for will be the same as everyone else.

you never know you might find a genius who can rank us at #1 for every search term in 1 week but if you say your gonna pay a coder more because you dont think he is worth as much then he may go somewhere else.

dont you have to be russian to be a communist?#

    joking

    anyway

    everybody join our club

    http://www.phpfreechat.net/

Easy to install and hack out. Chat rooms can be stored as flat text files so you can easily archive or move to a different system later. You can create different categories just by making a static url and linking to it. Previous chats are desplayed upon return or you can "clean" the room.

You can also just drop this program in a folder (say /DParmyTalk/) and .htaccess protect the folder. Then give the id/pw out by PM. That sounds like a pretty secure option for this situation.

Let me know if you need any help.

    Outstanding thread.

The only thing missing from communism was the capitalism.

The DP Army or "capitalist commune" will succeed if 3 things are achieved:

    - Direction and leadership
    - Perceptive collaboration
    - Relentless execution of tasks

The rewards for hard work are not always monetary and not always identical for each contributor - each person's involvement can only be weighed up and judged by themselves with respect to the contribution that they are happy to make. Some people do it for the ride, some people do it for the money, some people do it for a challenge.

The one fundamental criteria for collaborative teamwork is the perception of fairness and fairplay. Equal shares engenders a platform of trust until such time as that platform is perceived as no longer applying, or should one person's effort be unrecognized. Recognition is the second most important factor of why collaborative teams fail. People do not like being ignored or taken for granted.

Online contribution is no different than offline business activities - with the exception that never before in history has a marketplace this large been available without the overheads (or at reduced overheads per 1000 people reached). Every business on the planet has to engender collaboration and a willing workforce mentality.

The difference with online activities is the proportion of time people can devote to tasks that is relatively "risk-free" (for them) and "low" out of pocket costs (which is precisely the leverage turbosatan is trying to inspire).

Good luck in your endeavors - the idea is not new, but it is built on a solid foundation, with an interested audience.

Collaboration such as this is the key to the future of online business activities if you want to compete with the "land-rush" of new "moneyed-up" businesses entering this marketplace.

As a word of encouragement - regardless of how you organize your team - commit to performance goals and completing tasks. Be ruthless in your persistence for results and when the wheels are turning slowest, find the courage to dig deep and inspire each other forward.

Ideas don't fail - they just run out of persistence and courage to execute them.

Napolean Hill: "every adversity has the seed of a future benefit.............." never a truer statement was made.

If you get time, send me a link when its done - there is nothing better than ideas that blossom into success. They help inspire us all to be just that little bit better....................

I would like to contribute. I consider myself a average to above average designer, I have skills within PHP to do database oriented scripting. I am also capable of contributing some to marketing campaigns to help make the sites we build successful. I'm kind of a "Jack of all trades" - master of none. I'm not sure where I would fit in, but i'm dedicated and loyal to projects I start and figure I could be useful to a group such as this even if it is for organizational purposes. I already run 2 profitable businesses online, I understand what it takes. :)
