I have 3 blogs on one server all on different mysql databases but i used the subdomain blogs/artistnamehere and I was tring to set up a celebrity blog for my website but i uploaded it and it would not install another one in that directory. I guess I am going to have to install it into its own directory?
Wordpress core files cannot have different names than the original ones. Also you cannot upload two files with the same name in the same location. If you uploaded the new archive into a separate folder, it should install from there as long as the folder is accessible via a web browser. If it won't install, please provide a screenshot or a detailed error message so we know what to instruct you next. Good luck,
Different blogs, different directories. Wordpress MU has the files in the same directory but it creates blogs on different sub domains or directories.
WPMU has all the files in the same directory as he wants to. But the outcome is the same as installing manually blogs in different directories. So to answer his question. Yes, you need to you need to install it in its own directory.
