you could create a niche website, and create content, for example..

Contract writers to create content ($5 to $8 per article)

1000 pages x $5 = $5000

Buy links
Yahoo Directory
Links relared to your site

in a couple of months, you could start earn money....

Another way could be buy a couple of sites, making 30 a month, you could buy them for $360 to $500, you can buy 20 sites of $500..

If the site is earning 30 per month, you will earn $600 per month... This is $7200 in one year, you are getting the 10K in only 1.5 year.

I'd find interesting "make money online" affiliate programs, create some landing pages, and go buy reviews of the products from John Chow. Seems everyone's trying that, so it wouldn't be very original. Doesn't matter if it works, though...

 

i'd go do the same and have the "john chow" effect traffic

 

But seriously, you can't just expect The John Chow Effect to be a magical solution. You'd have to have a great landing page, and a product that sells to his audience. If that was the case, however, the traffic could do wonders. And think about how many reviews you can buy with $10,000
