Text link ads will drop old affiliate links

Just receive a link from TLA that they begun to use tinyurl to shorten links. The old affiliate link will no longer work in one week.

I think it's quite unreasonable. Why drop well-working old affiliate links and use a free link cloak service?

I see no reason they could not keep old links also.

Unprofessional as they only gave a week to keep the old ones alive.

grrr. I've just sent a message via contact to tla support.

This sucks. I can't go round changing my links everywhere. And for ones I can't change, I will not get credited for any referrals.

I urge any and all tla affiliates to ask tla to continue to support the old urls for at least a year.

Oh and did I mention tiny url sucks?

I think it makes your affiliate links look like junk to use tinyurl.

I receive lots of spam emails that are full of tinyurl links.

yeah.. 1 weeks certainly doesnt make any sense.

and what if tinyurl decide to change their link or policy or whatsoever.. Now we are going to depend to them.. geez..

It must be in response to Google's crackdown on sponsored links.

It makes them more money  Changing affiliate links is easy if you mask the afffiliate links using a 301 redirect in .htaccess

Very unprofessional of them. Tinyurl looks associated with spam links.
Everytime i see a tinyurl link i think: SPAM!

I almost thought it was a joke when I saw that... I don't get why they're doing this...

But what I really wonder is what our new affiliate links were before going through the tinyurl conversion?

yea when I heard about this - this is the most annoying thing they could have done to affiliates especially the ones that do not use redirects

lucky for me I use redirects so I just have to change 1 file and I am done - but this can not be so more annoying
