How Do You Define Success?

    Hello All,

I am hoping this is the best location for this since it is general marketing.

What I want to know is how do you define success?

Does it take fame, fortune for you?
    Is security enough for you?

How about freedom to do as you please?

So tell me what is your definition for success and how you would like to have it?

    Thanks Much,

    GLS

We all set a goal what we want to achieve with our work. Achieving that is success.

God is equitable, gives everyone great chances, some of them do their best, some of them don't believe themselves, some of them waste precious seconds, some of them live for entertainment. I think, success chance is same for everyone.

mmm well when you got your goal.. For example if your first goal is to do 3K month, for you this is a sucess, maybe for another 3K is nothing. I believe that the success is really personal...

i think for the most part people believe success if financial freedom, but for me success in life is much more than that.

    These replies are excellent.
Personally I am big on quotes and here is one I thought you might like on success...

"Never lose sight of the fact that the most important yardstick of your success will be how you treat other people your family, friends, and coworkers, and even strangers you meet along the way" -- Barbara Bush

    Success =

Not having to walk for 2 hours to fetch a bucket of water,

Having enough food say you don't know what it's like to go to sleep hungry

Knowing that if you get sick, you have access to the best options to help you get better.

But really, I'd like to have total freedom. Enough passive income to experience anything this world has to offer, with the ones I care about, for as long as I like.

I like your post zorde. I rather feel that is an ideal that we should see for everyone in this world rather than a symbol of success for some but a symbol that we as a planet have made strides of success.

Ahh yes there is some idealist in me as well.

I have many thoughts on success and the ultimate would be a fantasy that will never come true - to make star trek real. Not that I'm a trekkie but the idea of an ideal world is well fantastical and would be scientifically nice...

To design and work on whatever, whenever, without deadlines would be a nice feeling of success.

Having more than I have. In other words success means completing my goals and obtaining more than I have now. By now I am refering to success as I view it in the time that I am defining what I would consider to be success. Since sucess means having more than I have now, I would be constantly redefining my level of what I consider sucess. So in other words I will never be succesfull because I want more as I get more. So my goals will change constantly.

Sorry if I didn't make sense,
    Kyle

I am successful in my life and everything I do. I am not rich, but I do what I love and make a living from it.

If your unhappy with $10 then you will be unhappy with $10,000,000.

    It is easy to define,

success means to gain or reach whatever you want.

I would define success as having a job that you love, making money to afford the things that you want, and being overall happy with your life.....that would be my true definition of success.

As I said I like quotes and I just found one while working on a piece that fits here very well.

My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success. She said that 'achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others, and that's nice, too, but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success.'
    -- Helen Hayes

By this definition we have all defined achievement rather than success. but you now what? I would rather have the thought that I am continually achieving any day over the success. Quiet in the background is fine with a secure and happily fed and free to do whatever lifestyle and family.:)

We all have heard of balancing family with our career. I define success as reaching long term goals as far as money is concerned. Family? I have none and keep it that way so I can keep making more money. So I define success as acheivement in my career, and nothing will keep me from me and my goals. Is that shallow? I like wealth. Can't help it...:D
