My Adwords account got terminated...anyone else had this happen?

This has happened once before...my account won't register any impressions. I'll get in touch with adwords support, and they'll stall: They'll say someone will get back to you by the end of the day, and no one does. And finally when you contact them they will tell you the account has been cancelled.

The first time I didn't think too much of it, because my account was really spammy. But this time I wanted to know, but when I asked them why they told me that I wasn't allowed to open a new account and that I should refrain from contacting them egen, and then the chat session was terminated. WTF?

I do have other accounts running, so it's not any problem there, but I'm curious to why it was canceled. I was promoting two affiliate links: one to a dating site. and the other one two a sexual enhancement site. Out of the two, the sexual enhancement was the spammy one - I promoted it on ots of adult related keywords. But I'm running the same campaign now on a different account since a few days (since it wasn't registering impressions) and it does fine.

So that leaves the dating site, but those were all the most relevant keywords to a trusted dating site (I'm promoting other dating sites on a different account on similar keywords)?

I just want to try to figure out what I did wrong so I don't screw up any of my important accounts. And I'm also getting paranoid about what happens if they find my credit card linked to other accounts, or the accounts I managae under my pro account.

Anyone who knows anything about this and can tell me would be much appreciated, google support won't answer any questions about it

But the weird thing is that the new account didn't even register ANY impressions what so ever. It just got terminated right away - no warnings, nothing. I'm trying to figure out exactly what I did wrong, because I didn't use any over-the-top shady techniques...

They do this a lot of times - no warning - just freeze impressions when they find something wrong.

Insist trying to get an answer from them, but anyway you should avoid running several accounts as they don't like this. Now these others may be terminated too as GFC stated.

Well I have a google pro account, and that's specifically for running several accounts...does anyone know if they cancel accounts managed by the same google pro account, or if they just cancel the ones where you log in on the actual interface with your IP?

What I'm trying to figure out is if I should avoid logging in directly to any accounts and just use google pro manager?

I don't think the damage is too bad, but I'm actually suprised this hasn't happened to more people...

Does anyone know the specific reasons they ban people for? It seems to me one reason is to try to repeatedly put up similar ads after they've been declined

When you manage several accounts using MCC interface, depending of the case they freeze just one account or all your accounts on the same MCC account.

It makes no difference as they probably already knows that all accounts are linked and your previous use of these accounts are already logged there -- but is hard to say.

Nowadays the more frequent ban reason is to insist in resending disapproved ads - probably this is the reason that you get banned and you can not use this account anymore.

There is a chance of they freeze the other accounts too in a few days.

    Thanks for all the info...

Does anyone have any experience or know how much trouble it is to get a new account going once you've been banned?

its close to impossible to return after you get banned - I've never seen a case of someone that could get back after get banned in AdWords.

But with new I.P. and different credit card + new email it has to work right??

I think I know what happened now...About 6 months ago I started a few different accounts for different websites I worked for. One of the accounts was my own and I was testing spammy stuff with it. It got cancelled, and I forgot about it and have kept managing my other account.

Now a week ago I tried to start a new account, and I realize now that it never worked at all. So probably the ban is in effect for my new account, but hasn't affected all my other accounts.

But it seems weird to me, I uploaded ONE campaign when I first started out that had spammy ads, and now I'm banned for life as a result of that

How common is it that google bans people?

As I told is almost impossible to get back to AdWords and your new IP idea is nothing new.

I don't know if I understood you wrong: Do you still has an AdWords account alive that has not been freezed yet?

You should probably try and not continue conversations using both of your accounts. Duplicate acccounts are against the rules.

You seem to be pretty good at getting banned from things...
