Hi Everyone, Im planning on using adwords very soon as I am a mortgage broker. My site is in the canadian mortgage business and is geared towards mortgages for everyday consumers. I have a 7 page site which I believe is very informative yet not overwhelming and confusing like some competitors I know of. Also, not too many competitors of mine are using adwords which I find interesting. Seems they don't care or just don't know about it. When visiting the home page, the links to other pages are very prominent along the top of the site for the user to view my services , contact page and apply now page for example. I'm not worried about the user not being able to find my contact info or application page, just more concerned if google cares whether they land on my homepage or not. I am aware that it is important to have the keywords I am bidding on appear on the page the ad clicks to, and I intend to have enough of those keywords on the page. So my concern is whether to make a landing page to satisfy google adwords and if it will help the overall performance of my ads. Any suggestions? Thanks again.
With bigger ticket items I actually find that in most cases "micro sites" (sites w/less than 10 pages) almost always outperform the stereotypical "landing page". I would start with your site and if you have time/budget test a few other landing options along the way. You may even just find it more effetive to test changes on your site rather than messing with new landing pages.
As long as whatever page your ad directs the visitor to has the keywords they used prominently displayed as part of your page, particularly in the heading, you, in effect, already have a landing page. Hope this helps. Michael
It most likely wont' hurt to do that, but it won't help much either. It's a strategy that's run it's course (for the most part).
