Link Building - How Much Is Too Much

    Hey guys,

Ranking highly for several soccer keywords. Always ranked pretty well for them but now ranking VERY well for them and I'd like to keep it that way. I add new content each week and been paying some people on good ol' DP for linkbuilding efforts. I'm wanting to purchase 100 high quality links each month. Is this enough, too much or too little? I know that link-building is a constant thing but I am quite busy with my work life and so forth so I'd just like to have a set amount each month.

    Thanks
    Tom

Content is key, if you keep updating with unique content, Google will love you ;)

Be careful with link building, make sure the person knows what he/she is doing. Buying relevant TEXT... you don't want to mess up your serps!

Just be more selective in link building and try to use methods that encourage earned links. It should Never be a numbers game.

You can never have "too many" incoming links. Just keep link building but if you are purchasing the links be careful because google is on the hunt for these.

Text links don`t have a danger limit. Feel free to add as many as you can (with your targeted keywords as anchor text). And yes, someone already said it, Content is king. Changing the content at least once in 2 days, will surely rank you good for a long time. Adding the links plus updating the content, i see no. 1 position coming soon for you ... hehe ;) Good luck

    100 links/month is not high.

in my opinion, 500k links/ month is high but 100 is not high :)

Lol thanks guys. Going to start writing my own content as I'm loving being 2nd for a keyword I thought was VERY competitive but seems not to be and is bringing me in around £1000 a week just now :). Need to don my old Journalism cap hehe.

Thanks for all the tips, I'm going to purchase around 120 links a month from people on DP as the links I've paid for so far on here have been top quality and like someone else said I don't believe it's a numbers game either.

One site that confuses me I'd like to know is if anyone can tell me how the site winuklottery.com is ranking well for win the lottery when there's next to no content, must be backlinks only.

Never enough realy, but dont get like 100,000 in one day that would be to much and you would be banned by google I think.

I don't think normal links will be problem but be carefull with sitewides from huge sites and go slowly for them although they help a lot.

With recent changes in Google, I would be little slow in building links.

Great advice, if your ranking well right now wait this latest storm out... stuff going on right now that boggles the mind. Could Google be getting more well.... Realistic?

Time well tell if they ease up on new websites and throw some junk away so far so good.

You have to look at this from a relevant factor. How many links does your site normally get per month?

You don't want to break the norm too much - you can accelerate it some but you need to watch how many links you get.

I would say the larger focus is on getting high quality links and if you are doing that you won't have to worry about getting too many. You'll be doing everything you can to get a handful per day or week depending on how much time you put into it.
