BlogStorm is 11 weeks old today and has just reached 50,000 back links.:)

I'm producing a post that will detail exactly where these links came from and how you can build thousands of links to your blog for free.

The post will be available to RSS readers only so subscribe to the feed here.

Hint: I have not bought any links or submitted to any directories. All are 100% natural.

If you want me to include any specific details in the article please post below.

Almost 7,000 are from digital point signature links. You probably post on other forums. That could potentially be thousands more. Although not bought from directories, maybe you submitted to loads of freebies.

Doing 10, 20, 30 or whatever blog posts a day will also quickly build linking.

You may also have other people who have your link in their signatures etc.

Still, nicely done. It's good you've been so focussed on getting so many links :)

I don't post in any other forums. I have not submitted to any directories, free or otherwise.

The only signature link is my signature in this forum.

Google is responding by sending loads of traffic.:)

    Every single link is natural.

    http://backlinkwatch.com shows only 3125 backlinks to blogstorm.com

what do you use to check your backlinks?

EDIT: Yahoo shows over 52,000 backlinks. It does include internal linking though. From what I see (in external links to yours is) they are mostly (almost all from what I saw at a quick glance) from comments you leave on blogs.

Impressive number of links though :)

Yahoo show 50,000 links excluding internal links. Maybe 50 links in total are from comments I leave on blogs. I should probably comment more but don't have time.

As long as the links are natural there is no upper limit. The more the better.

From a quick check on Yahoo! Site Explorer, it seems Digg and Del.icio.us are a part of your strategy. I know it was some viral, or social networking thing.

Very interesting. I thought I read somewhere that SE's do not like and get suspicious with this many backlinks in this short amount of time.

I think its more the rate of growth that counts, does not matter if you have 200 new links every day as long as it is EVERY day and not 200 one day, the next day 0, the next day 200 again and so on. 200 every day can be good, but if you suddenly have 0 one day, that would not look very natural.

This backlink watch website has been a great help! I really didn't know you can track back all the comments you have made in the past with just one click!

And that 50,000 backlinks is just impressive!

It depends on the type of links. If all the links are from blogs and news sites then they are natural and the search engines like them.

If all the links were from low quality sites then the site would be banned by now.:)

If you don't have the patience to wait 24 hours for my article then you probably wouldn't benefit from it anyway.

The reason for it taking 24 hours is because I wanted to make it a good article that helps people rather than just generic tips you have all read hundreds of times before.

Yahoo! Site Explorer shows 3635 and iwebtool shows 3169

Where are you getting 50,000 from?

    Try this link

The 3635 is only counting links to the homepage. Since this is a blog most people who naturally link to it are linking to individual posts rather than the homepage.

I assume there is no SPAM invovled?

Are they all relative to the subject of your website?

    There is no spam.

All the links are the result of bloggers and news websites liking my content and linking to the posts.

Links include Matt Cutts from Google, Gizmodo, www.smashingmagazine.com, www.bnet.com, Time Magazine, SEO Book, Search Engine Land, Search Engine Journal, Marketing Pilgrim, John Chow, TechCrunch, ProBlogger.
