Some ignorant people like to bag the cliche's used in the "make money online" ebooks, but so far I've found them to be completely correct. It pains me to see others missing out on the opportunity due to being ignorant. Some examples of these cliches are: Believe in yourself = True When I started to believe I could succeed in IM, and that was way before I started list building, product creation etc, well that meant I was serious and was on the right path to succeess. Surround yourself with successful people and become successful yourself = True I wasted a lot of time on other forums (which I wont mention) listening to the wrong advice. Focusing my business soley on web directories or adsense is definitely not a smart thing to do. Immediately once I read a few ebooks and visited the right forums I discovered terms and concepts I've never heard before such as "list building" and many other terms which allow me to build a "real" long term business. Take action = True This one's my favourite. We hear it all the time, "take action", "take action" "take action" (ok thats enough)[] BUT it's so true. I spent a lot of time here reading information yet hardly posting or doing much, just waiting for the "right time". There's never a right time, you just gotta "do it". Once I decided to start building my list, I saw it grow quite fast each day. Build Relationships = True I'm only starting to see the benefits of this one, but again its correct. You can grow your business much faster if you network with others and help each other out. JV's and other opportunities will present itself. As of now my list is only at 470+ but in a couple of weeks that figure will be in the low-mid ,000's, simply because I took action and starting communicating with other IM'ers more. Yes there's many steps inbetween but the cliches have definitely been true to me.
I've read 100s of ebooks, and not one gave me any good ideas or made me any money! That same info is on DP for free! I personally find them useless.
although OP, just trying to marketing his sig sites... but he have some positive points... ( take action take action and take action )
Are you serious? You have never read an ebook and got some new ideas or strategies? Do you read actual books? Maybe you just don't read enough stuff. Sure, some of the prices of these books are just too much - but if you get new ideas and turn it into money, then it's all good
Sohan there are a LOT of bad ebooks out there, but there are many good ones too. Usually its the reader who doesnt do what the ebook tells them to do. You can read an ebook until the cows come home, but unless you take action on the information, nothings going to change. Not saying its your fault, but it is true for many who read ebooks.
There are too many ebooks out there claiming it will be the last ebook you ever need to make lot money online in a short time. Selling this kind of ebook is a high profit business itself....
Sure there are some excellent ebooks out there but it has become so hard to differentiate the good from the bad. I don't buy ebooks anymore. The last one I bought was from a very respected person in the auction field and it was crap.
Ebooks aren't crap because they give that advice... Ebooks are crap because all of that advice can be found for free online. In this exact thread, for example.
I'm laughing as I read this thread. 1. There are a lot of garbage eBooks out there, but there are alot of very good ones, too. The problem is most people don't read the whole eBook, are usually looking for the "miracle" in an eBook, or don't take the time to really do what the eBook suggests....most want the easy way, and there really is no easy way. 2. As far as finding all that info in the forums, you probably can, but you have to wade through so much crap and misinformation. Also, from reading many forums, most of those who frequent forums to get their information are also usually looking for the easy way. I have been an IM'er for a number of years. The best IM strategies and techniques I have found have come from paid eBooks and reports...not most of the drivel I read on forums. Jim
I sell a few ebooks along with a video. They are tutorials on how to repair electronics. IO find that they sell quite well and they are informative and have a personal feel.
It would hold true for some eBooks. About not being worth the time to read because its the same blah blah you either know or read for free here at DP. But if you have a niche website for a less common searched keyword such as making money, to maybe 1000 vegan recipes.
Yes, I do. Most of the ebook authers are there to make money - nothing else. They will have it full of urls, mailing list sign ups and aff links.
and whats so bad about that? Of course they are made to make money, everybody has to make a living, it doesn't make the content any less valuable.
I can see how these do well. I typically have nothing but negative opinions about SEO ebooks though - I think most people automatically correlate "ebook" with "SEO".
What you are describing sounds like the free eBooks....which are usually self-promotions with a tid bit or two thrown in. Have you paid for a quality eBook? Jim
What I find, even in the quality e-books, is that the amount of information given, especially in the "make money online" type books, is not worth the money put into purchasing the book, most of the time. There are exceptions, but in general, I wouldn't buy an e-book without some good recommendations.
