So after using the same password for about 6 months I tried to log into my blog today and could not. It just kept going back to the wp-login.php screen. I tried to get my password reset and emailed to me, but I don't receive any email. I've checked in PHPMyAdmin and the account that i'm requesting (admin) and my email are both correct. Also I've tried reseting it to what it "normally" is using the Emergency Password Recovery: http://www.village-idiot.org/archives/2007/05/22/wp-emergency-password-recovery/ Still no luck! Anyone know how to recover my password. Also I was wondering if i delete my admin account from the DB there wont be any users, would I be prompted to create a new user? Just a thought???
If you are comfortable using phpmyadmin ... have a look at http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/phpmyadmin/ The page explains what to do using both words and screenshots
Thanks. Yes, that should have worked. Actually i found an MD5 Hash lookup and could check that my password hashed was in fact my password. Also I tried editing it via the information from the link to make sure. Still no luck. Has anyone possibly had this issue? The way things are acting its leading me to believe something may have become corrupted in my database. Would it somehow be possible for me to backup posts comments and links and then reinstall WP? EDIT: I just tried logging into other blogs on the server and I can't get into any of my accounts. I'm making a service ticket with my host. Chances are I assume they will say it's something I did, but this is pretty odd if you ask me. Heck my last post was Monday night! Why in two days is this not working!
RESOLVED. Apprently it was resolved when the tech turned off PHP5. I asked if i could get a more in depth conclusion, so thats TBD. But my sites are back online.
