I use Iframes for my website Saw 4 trailer and im wondering if this is why it has dropped from the #1 spot for my search phrase. The only content google has to take from my site is what is on the bottom Left area. And then the rest is Iframes. Will this hurt my SEO by not allowing the Search engine to crawl my page and get new content? Or can google determine that its just an Iframe and that it is all part of 1 page and use that to crawl. If someone knows let me know because im considering moving away from Iframes if this is the case.
try to avoid i-frames if you can. If you are worried that google is not indexing all your content, view google's cache of your site to see what they have been able to index. If they aren't getting all your text...get those i-frames out of there.
iframes are no indexed as content, they are rather seen like external images so they only have a positive effect to external domain, if they have an effect at all. But in terms of what google is indexing' it's rather easy: google is indexing every crap they can read and which is not obviosuly a full copy (checksum) of another page, but traffic is based on backlink ranking.. multiplied by keywords/keyphrases your content is has
here is your site's home page in the google cache: http://72.14.209.104/search?q=cache:http://www.saw4trailer.com/&hl=en&strip=1 doesnt look like they are able to see your content.
I use IFRAME all over my sites. Never had a SEO problem using them. Infact in my extensive SEO studies and practical use in personal sites, I think they only have a positive effect. And yes. Content inside IFRAMES will get indexed. It does for all my sites.
you can you <DIV> instead of <IFRAME> I'm doing the same ... I had a <IFRAME> in http://www.tvbusinesslounge.com/fesamuels/ ... Now I'm using <DIV>
div undoubtedly better than iFrame - iFrames are made for external pages. According to your cache google only reads a couple of number 1 digits and the word 'frame'. So yeah, change to div.
