Is Netfirms a good domain registrar? Are there any other registrars that are cheap and good? Thanks.

Then honestly just go with go daddy.

I hate those shit heads netfirms.com

There technology is so behind in terms of registration with .ca domains.

But there really isnt a reason to pick them. For .com, just go for godaddy. They are also a dollar cheaper i think.

They suck. I would stick with companies like Moniker, MyDomain/Dotster, Namecheap, Godaddy, etc.

You can get 5 domains cheap with them but I have to agree that they have a way to go before they catch up to Moniker, MyDomain/Dotster, Namecheap, Godaddy

Okay. Thanks everyone. Which is better, mydomain.com or moniker.com? Are there any domain registrars with free whois protection?

I think I might go with namecheap.com. But, is it true that for most/all domain registrars not only do you have to pay to register the domain, but you have to pay to move it to your hosting account as well?

Stargate.com do offer this, I don't like their interface much but they have cheap prices for transfers & free privacy

If you're talking about security of your names, Moniker is the most respected in the domaining community

Netfirms is probably the worst domain register around, they have the slowest & most useless interface, their support is even slower and they are just ugly.

It's OK to go with Netfirms for domains only for the low price but try as soon as you can to transfer them to Namecheap or other registrars.

And don't even think about using hosting from them, they suck a lot. I've written a very bad review about them here on the forums.

    I honestly recommend Namecheap.

I registered with them because all I was using them for was the domain registration. After that I transfered them to my hosting account at Web Hosting Buzz. So all in all, the service (or lack of) didn't really matter.
