What direction do people think the web will move in next? We've had the dotcom bubble, Google, adsense, "web 2.0", social networking, and an underlying struggle towards greater standards compliance and more mature web software development tools & practices. Lots of people are still busy plugging away at their own web 2.0 ideas, but to be honest I think the online population can only afford a certain amount of "meta content" before people run out of things to do, gadgets to play with, and so on...a lot of it seems very faddish, stuff that'll be here today and gone tomorrow. Facebook's API seems to be one of the big things at the moment, and I do think making social networking a platform is an interesting idea......yet I got turned off it from the first "improved nudge" applet invite I got. What's the next big progression for the web? What do you think we're moving towards on t'internets?
Ok my thoughts are in the next 10 years the web will become crazy there are going to be some stupid ideas that make stupid people millions for example selling food for real cheap or something like that! The gambling industry will crash and burn in the next 10 years as poker rooms will become like online casinos flooded!
The internet is slowly taking over all businesses. The internet makes life easier and will continue to do so. In 10 years many people will be buying their groceries online (some already do). In Sociology we learned about a study that was taken that predicts that by 2020 that almost half of the jobs in the US will be done from home offices where you telecommute to work.
I think the next big thing will be super fast internet. The ability to send full length movies to each other in just minutes would be my guess. I wont be happy till I can do that
I feel that as the speed of the internet connection increases , the video market will be very very very popular
Well 3d would have to use some form of flash to be interactive, they could be used as a combo easily.
You are thinking WoW I see video as in.. video chats being much more popular with the rising speed, and then ideas will branch off that. We'll see
Not necessarily high resolution. Even a decent size that loads in a pretty good pace (not choppy like what we have now ). Lets not think High Def yet
Clear would be awesome, but it would also take a lot of bandwidth and space!!! Baby steps first, baby steps
I like to hold babys, but atleast I get to hold it. My internet is so slow I die when waiting for emails to come in!
