Hi guys, A friend of mine has opened a PayPal Singapore account lately. Unfortunately, she's not very tech savvy and can't figure out how to verify her account. I'm not very keen on accessing it myself since I'm from a different country. Basically, what I want to ask is, what does one need to verify a PayPal Singapore account? Will a credit card do or will my friend also need a Sigapore bank account? Thanks a lot!
That's what I thought too, but she told me that to list her $1,600 SGD receiving limit, it says that she has to add a bank account. Still, I'm not too sure about this since I haven't seen it for myself.
Its the standard verification method. You need to add a credit card, they will bill it with $1.99, display the activation code on the bill and refund the money to ur paypal account.
Yes, I am aware of the standard verification methods. What I really want to know is if PayPal Singapore needs a bank account like PayPal US does.
I see. Will adding the VCC raise the receiving limit? She said that according to PayPal, 1600 SGD is her receiving limit until she adds a bank account.
Thanks for the answers. I got another question, though. My friend, who didn't read the instructions clearly, used her English nickname to sign up for PayPal instead of her legal Chinese name. I don't want her to get into trouble but I don't know how to go about it. Should she: 1. Close her PayPal account and open a new one, this time using her real and legal Chinese name? 2. OR since she used her real last name anyways (she only used her English first name), could she just leave it at that and only change her first name when adding a credit card (I logged into PayPal earlier and saw that you could change your first name when adding a credit card) Thanks!
So you think she should close her current account and open another one? Is it easy closing an account? PS: Is it possible to just change the name of her current account? I logged into PayPal but didn't see any option to be able to do that. Please help!
