Directories or link exchange

Hi all guys at digital point i have a question, what is better for improving your SERPs, submitting to directories or link exchange for related sites if you know please reply.

 

They both improved your SERP if your linking to quality sites. Directory submission is good if you can have links from quality directories and link exchange also help if your linking to related and quality sites.

 

But be careful, try to avoid reciprocal link exchange...

 

what do you mean by reciprocal link exchange

 

If you have two websites, a.com and b.com, and you want to have a link exchange with the c.com website, it would be better to be linked from c.com to a.com and link back c.com from b.com, so:

c.com -> a.com
b.com -> c.com

So the link from c.com would be more important to search engines

 

i think directories is better because google can ban you because of link exchange

 

I don't think googles bans sites fro link exchange, almost every site would be banned!

I don't think so... As I said, it would not count the linkback, but will not ban your site.

 

Don't SEs count reciprocal links or 3-way links as backlinks?

 

Ofcourse,I would recommend you to do links exchange to get good traffic.Submitting to directories is a easy way,but results are very poor.
