All DP Mates, I need help in placing the Meta Tag for Google Site Map to verify site. Google says "Copy the meta tag listed below and paste it in your site's home page in the first <head> section of the page, before the first <body> section " But i have a WP Theme installed. Now where do i go and copy this. I have tried Copying the code in the following files on WP but of no use > Stylesheet >Header > Main Index Page >Page Template All for no use. Can some one please help me in understanding what i'm doing wrong and where should i place this code to get my site verified. Looking for URGENT HELP. Any Help will be appreciated. Ace Tuku
In the header file, there will either be a <head> tag or a <body> tag. Before the <head> ends and the <body> starts, put the tag there.
Thanks for you help. I was able to add it and get my site verified but the reason i asked was because my site shows <meta name='robots' content='noindex,nofollow' /> This is something what is not appreciated by Google. How do i change that. I thought Gsitecrawler will do that for me. But i have downloaded the software and now while uploading the robots.txt file via its inbuilt FTP program it gives me the following error ERROR checking 'http://www.xyz.com/sitemap.xml.gz': Error Code - 1404 - HTTP - Error 404 Not Found PLEASE HELP ME IN THIS TOO.
