Anybody have any advice on what software to use remove advertisement popups that would be free? My brother was on my computer looking at movie downloads and now I have a bunch of ads popping up on my computer.
I don't want to have to reinstall everything on the computer, isn't there some software to remove it?
Search around on google. A lot of times finding the spyware that is creating these popups is easy and remove it. Also check with spyware / adware removing programs. Next time brake his fingers. Mark
you can try downloading "Hijjack Now" which is a spy ads remover.. if that's don't work then you must have to re-install your copy of windows.. the one which you get with your windows pacakge but it must be fresh installation.

I ended up downloading zerospyware lite, but it has been running 8 minutes so far and is only 4% complete, so it might be a while. One the upperhand I found 16 spyware components already. If this doesn't work I will try the other downloads. I decided to edit my host file in windows/system32/drivers/etc and added two of the sites that kept popping up and blocked them, but I'd rather just remove the initial source, so hopefully this works.
