Hey guys!! I just created my first online venture which is a Bid Directory..

    Its located here :

    http://indyatown.com

I got around 5 sales and I made some exchanges so far... But i dunno how to promote the directory and I see that most of the directory owners like Haabaa,Big Web Links and some others are interested in new bid directories and they bid more which encourage us to expose..

But I dunno how to approach them... And get their attention... I have huge plans for this and need some serious help.. PLease help !!!

    What more can I do??

start by improving traffic. you will need to invest.

bid high on other bid directories.

wait for people to come to you, dont go asking them to bid, people will bid for a reason - when it will be to their advantage to do so.

its a long term business, dont panic after a few days

DON'T approach them. SPAMing people to bid on your directory is a sure way to get on everyone's bad list.

New bid directories are being created daily. EVERYONE has a huge plan. Talk is cheap, following through on the talk is the hard part and it is where you make the most progress.

If you want big bids, do a lot of reading at DP about how people are doing it. There are many bid owners who have written blogs on how to make your directory better. Get a LOT of links back to your site. Backlinks are important. SEO your bid directory, get it listed near the top of the popular terms in the search engines.
Have fun with it, modify the template. Make your directory different than everyone elses. If you like learn php, it makes it alot easier to write mods to set your directory apart from the same old bid directory everyone else has.

Again, read previous threads, there is a lot of good information on this already out there. Use the forum search feature. Like with all directories, traffic is key. The more traffic you have the more links you will sell. The more traffic your site sends to other sites, the more people who are already bidding on your site will bid higher to get more of your traffic.

It won't happen overnight. If you want a huge bid directory it takes a lot of hard work, those huge bid directories out there are not there by accident. They've put the time and energy into their sites.

buy some DP signatures or other webmaster forum signature, buy some banners, buy some featured listing and/or home page links.

Bid on other bid directory owners' directories, especially the ones that already bidded on yours. That will surely encourage them to bid on your directory.

Yes!! But my initial investment is very less and I'm planning to promote with the same...

But once i get some valuable listings i'll start bidding on the directories which already bid on my site.. But I have to wait and see if someone updates or bids more...

if you have little to invest, you need to find free ways of gaining traffic.

you should also get phplb, its better - more mods and templates too.

i tried to submit zorg links but your site wont work on my psp
