Hi guys, I was wondering how you could value facebook applications, I'm thinking of buying a couple, one has: ~48,000 users ~2,500 uinques/day the other has ~10,500 users and around ~400 uniques per day. None of the apps make any revenue since there are not ads (but I could place some). In general I was wondering if buying a facebook app is a better or worse idea opposed to buying a site. Any thoughts are appreciated, thanks.
The advantage that comes with it is that there are so many people who use facebook, the app could give you a large amount of traffic with a very good source of continuing visitors. I would not pay as much for a facebook app as I would for a website getting similar traffic, but I don't think the investment is a stupid one.
If it's a unique app, it might be worth a shot. I've started seeing duplicates of the same concept.. which is a waste.
Salsa_Boy, you can place ads just like on any other websites. This app was sold for $3mil http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2007/08/17/seeing-value-in-facebook-applications/
if the concept works then why not go with it? who cares if your concept is new or not as long as you get the traffic right?
