Google's 2007-Q3/Q4 PageRank (PR) Update

Dunno, could simply mean that due to bad coding a server glitch that returned an anomalous PR0 caused the site to think there was a change, hard to tell with just the wording in the email. Does it not say from what to what the change was?

Some facts:

1. It is possible to get PR6 within one PR update period.
2. It is possible to get this PR with few totally non-relevant PR 6-7 links and the site itself doesn't need to be quality at all.

3. High PR links (PR 7 and above) help to SERPs, even if the PR of the site is not high. (Not sure how much PR6 links help). Everyone can find PR4 sites on 1st page in Google.

4. This way it is possible to come on the first G. page with a PR5 not-old (6 months) site with four non-relevant PR7 backlinks in 2 days for a search term with over 2,000,000 competition (from starting position over #350). Or to come on 10th position with a PR6, bad quality, 15 months old site, for a term with 700,000,000+ competition (not sure in how much time).

Now, since Google probably doesn't want to have bad sites on the first page, it is naturally to think, that they are maybe considering to change this PR effect to SERPs.

I still believe that other ranking factors have effect and that this PR trick is not the only way to rank high.

 

I will die, i may not meet my expenses if google does not show PR. And i am feeing tensioned about the threads where people say that Google has stopped showing PR.

Google is playing with people lives, from past 3 months i have worked hard on 4 websites to show a PR. Still there has been no signs.

I dont know what Google does? It should release a time about PR update.

Depends whos PR7 and how it got their, nofollow doesn't matter if its wikipedia which could lead to maybe other wikis? .gov wikis emmmmmmm love em. Darn that nofollow its so selfish. Tell you want if you can get a PR7 do it, man if thats a PR7 inner get me one while your at it. Pr is so manipulated anything that big is bound to get ignored so I wouldn't by anything like that. Maybe if you kept it for 6 months it might get more valuable * I think google are the ones selling them anyway *

god you really put allot of time in this question however I think its over thought. google is selective I think your PR7 link might,,,, might be worth a great deal after a year but wouldn't cound my breath I have some from 3 years ago that wont even stay in cache as well as a PR8 I prayed to alah over for hours and they refuse to index it I am sure out of spite

700 million? Man alive it probably isn't a term worth it since a term with that kind of competition probably only gets 2 hits a month. however if its 2.05 million and under thats the tough section... muh ha ha the magic bullet does it exist? Maybe , but I keep eating it...... or taking it to the head on the way right out of the index.

Thank god I was getting nevervous. Finally the reward vindication and overall love I was expecting. Maybe a I will get a nice check too with it. I somehow doubt it since I can't even make over 2 dollars a day with it.

Seems adsense is tough now that getting 100 dollars out of my sister.... shes half jewish and half dutch.

focus on creating at least a few thousand pages
then you never have to worry about PR and backlinks again

keep on working and creating instead of worrying

PR never pays you a single cent but traffic brings you the $ !!! traffic only is attracted by unique interesting and exciting content.

On two site i get directly a pr6 on the first pagerank update without redirect. But you need very good backlinks from established domains (pr7-8).

We are in the middle of Google PageRank Updates and it's not finished while the major update and toolbar export is not showing yet, so my advice for you that you don't spend your time waiting for the updates but keep on optimizing and building links.

sorry but have to disagree. My blog got PR 6 in 2nd update. Got PR 5 in the first update.

Pretty sure we're in the midst of a PR update. Many sites have seen it already. Sites like mine havn't. Guess it takes quite a bit of time for the bots to update all the pages on the net.

 

Keep on waiting for PR update.
