Hi all. Trying to create some backlinks for a ecommerce store for a client. I thought one obvious way was linkbait in the form of a competition. Here is the url: http://coincounting.googlepages.com/coin_counter.htm Please feel free to critique and give me some feedback. Where did I go right and where did I go wrong. Enter the competition if you like (and of course to Digg the page too ) No idea how this will go at the moment.
Great idea. The contest apparently is aimed at only Europeans because the jar is filled with euro coins.
I think it's topically sound and a fantastic way to get the word out locally and nationally. Maybe take a picture of the jar and put it in a few bigger newspapers? *shrug* I stumbled & reviewed it (but did not digg it because I'm in the US)
put something besides money in the jar. say money and peanut butter, that would make things different.
Great idea, why don't you put this content to customer's website? I think he'll get more customers if you put it there.
Thanks all for the supportive comments. The jar is filled with Euro coins but the contest is open to people worldwide including the US.If you win the cash is sent to your Paypal account (and will be automatically converted to your local currency) By the way, I was going to post this in the Contests Section but it turns out you have you be here two weeks before this is allowed (new to these forums). If anyone would like to post it for me (and this isn't against the forum rules) I would be indebted and prepared to offer rep, diggs, stumbles and lifelong friendship!! Well, he's on a hosted solution and I didn't want even the vague possibility of the Digg effect (you never know) to crash his site
I like your idea. It is very creative. Also you wouldn't happen to be Emma Watson from the Harry Potter movies would you??? Just kidding.
Just when I thought contests were dead (years ago), you find a creative way of using it to promote. Good idea and execution.
