Shib, thanks for this. However, you did not do the colours according to me. I was asking for some golden background and you used a yellow/mustardy colour. Golden is different from yellow. Of the ones you did I liked the first one (all black text on yellow).

Let me know if you are willing to try this one last change (golden background), otherwise I will close this and I will decide on a winner.

Shib, I am sorry dude but it hasn't got that look I was after. Your gold is a little bit dull. I was after something more golden, more shiny. You came very close to what I was after but it's still not there. I must thank you for your patience and all your effort but I will not be choosing your design. Your design came in the third place.

congrats winners ...what a painful contest. You know considering all the revisions a professional design firm would have charged close to $300 for that logo

 

It depends on how you look at it. If I wanted to save money I also could have bought some icon from istockphoto or similar for a $1 or $2. But at the same time I think if you listened to the instructions there would not be a need for that many revisions.

With all this being I really liked your black shield. Looked very stylish. Thanks for entering this contest.

 

Thank you, but back to my point. For example, the gold color you requested from one of the entrants, i thought it looked pretty dard golden. maybe you meant bronze i dont know. I understand you want it the way you want it, the unfortunate part is, we are willing to go through all these revisions for such little money. No offence to anyone i do it too. I was just pointing out that for $20 this sure was a nit picky contest.

I partly agree with sb1234 but the point is, $20 means different things to different people. For example, i'm 26 and live in the UK so i have bills plus the expense of living in this country, so this prize wouldn't go far but for other people who may be students or in countries with a lower economy, this prize is good and they really want it. I do agree a lot of revisions were asked for, but proteindude hasn't forced anybody to make the changes he asked for. People did so because the prize was worth it to them.

 

Yeah, never thought of it that way, i bet $20 goes quite a long way in some countries

I'm in the USA and extra income is always welcome!! I love to create artwork and to get paid without having to find new clients is the best. If I win enough contests, it adds up. Finally, sometimes it's not all about the money..... sometimes.

Sb, you're right about one thing. I just arrived at work today and I realised that shib did make that golden. At work I have a CRT monitor and at home an LCD. On the LCD one it looked nothing like gold but at work it does look golden. So here's what I am going to do: I am going to pm shib and also send him $10 for the second.

I disagree with you on one point though: I was not nit picky. I just wanted something that I would be pleased with. The changes were voluntary. No one forced anyone to do them. And besides, I did not request the changes, I was only offering feedback. It was up to the participants whether or not they would do the changes. Take for example KiaORA. Kia supplied additional versions of own accord.

My opinion is sometimes you can tell if you are in with a chance or not. Do what DaveyBoy did: supply one design and leave it at that. But thanks for pointing out the golden colour for shib
