hello! Have a few domains lying idle. How to monetise using Adsense.. Is it worth? I will have to do other SEO marketing as well for it? Like keywords and tags.. Can someone throw some light. I do not wish to go with sedo or other domain parking sites. I want to host my pages. Thanks again.
I've never heard about this before, so I'm at lost just like you.. I'll be awaiting replies as well. Great topic!
Well, without actual content on the page, it's against the Adsense TOS as far as I know. Either you have to get at least some content up there or choose some other way to monetize the site (affiliate links, perhaps? Just an idea...).
It isn't against TOS. Look there http://www.google.com/domainpark/ But you have to posess really quality domain with natural traffic to get any revenue.
Don't know if its about quality domains, but you do need to have couple of thousands domains in your portfolio if I remember correctly.
the first thing that you have to do is make a good content website then think of other things! or if you are getting direct or search engine traffic then you should go for domain parking
Has anyone got some example link of parked domain with adsense? I thought the whole point of parking was to not have content.
i believe that we are talking about type-in traffic here? if the domain name is targeted to the dot-com urls that people are typing into the google search bar, it can be very targeted traffic. some registrars will monitize your parked domains.
It's not against the TOS, though I'm not too sure whether it's effective. SEDO makes use of domain owners to park and advertise with Adsense, with a share revenue model. I'm thinking its working really well for them.
Man..I repped you for that. To think that it was up for 3 years and I never heard about it. Google needs to promote its new services on its homepage more.
Guys seems a very interesting topic here. Ok.. 1. I did contact google for parking. My friend had 1000 odd domains. Traffic was not very great on them though. And so Google 'very politely' did not accept the portfolio. 2. If content has to be developed and then place ads.. its as good as creating websites and running them! 3. Are there other services which can help? Eg: Can i get a search tool bar which can display only sponsored results.. like many of the domain parking sites do. eg: www-netbramha-com parked at revenuedirect.com The only problem with these guys is they restrict keywords to be used and they share the revenue!! Some one help us all! Cheers
For such domain parking adsense to work, you really need common, generic domain names. People like to type in directly phrases like partyplanning.com or daytrips.com. I think the common thinking is something like: "Hmmm, I am interested in halloween costumes but I don't know the name of specific shops so let me just type in halloweencostumes.com and see what I get".
I found it best to park them, the parking service will promote them so they receive traffic. I thought making MFA sites was the way to go, just set them up and leave them but it didn't work out, 12 months later I still wasn't covering the costs of renewing the Domains and the hosting. It might look a bit self serving posting in this thread but check out the site in my signature, I set the parking service up specifically because I had good domains sitting there doing nothing. Placing content on the Domains wasn't working out, Sedo and the other Parking services were taking way to big a cut and weren't doing a thing about promoting the Domains.
if your domain is not receiving traffic, you wont get much revenue wherever you park. so to develop it and grow it will be a better decision.
Not true as pointed out above. Google AdSense for Domains. I've just been looking through the AdSense for Domains FAQ and it looks like you really do need some pretty nifty domains along with type in traffic to qualify so I may well look down the route of Sedo. Has anyone had any experience of using Sedo?
