Very Strange PM - have you had it?

I had a PM from a member with no posts. S/he or it thanked me form my email, congratulated me and told me to follow the link (supplied) for my answer. What's this about? Where can I report this?

 

Forward it to a mod through PM and they will ban the member. Make sure you let them know that you have had no contact with this person and did not request any information.

 

This happened with me too recently. But the sender was only interested in link exchange, and had 0 posts. Didn't ask me to follow any links etc

 

That's actually called spam.

Its normal ... many times i get new orders from users with 0 post !!! Even seen some with 0post and 1 iTrade .. Lol

 

I've had some unsolicited PMs that are pretty spammy (like advertising someone's site) from new members, but never one like that. Sounds more like one of those "you've won! click here to claim your prize!" scams.

 

I had another PM today from a member who is now banned. This was from someone who valued my advice - I knew it was a scam then as, really, nobody would want my advice on any technical issue.

 

I've had the Nigerians msg me on here with 0 posts saying they have 10 million dollars for me if I send them 10 grand. I just delete them.

 

Never had that problem on this forum. The admins should ban the member, because he probably want to get some information from you or use you in some way.

be careful, it may be a phishing site. Also clear your cookies if possible

That's strange. How can someone at DP have 0 posts and 1 iTrader. iTrader can only be given on a post, and not on any PM's

You can't be banned/infraction(ated) as a result of sending illegal/nasty PMs. The admins/mods have no control over the Private Messaging system therefore they cannot certify that the PM was ever sent...unless they were stupid enough to send it directly to a mod/admin.

 

Do they have a report feature in pm

Because i have got a few since now trying to get me to go to sites and didnt know what to do with the pm. So just deleted it but it would have been nice to have the option to report it

Also is there out i can do because a while ago i posted i have dmeonoid invites to give away and now every day or 2 i get a pm from members with no posts or less then 3 asking for 1

Seems strange... I would report it to a MOD and see what they think ASAP
