Looks like a good start, but it could use some work both with general layout as well as ad placement. I suggest you modify your Google ads to blend into the site better, it really wouldn't be too hard if you just change the colors to match your site and improve the placement a touch. As far as the general layout goes, it's not bad but it is a bit awkward on some pages where the content seems lopsided and there are huge empty gaps.
I think its a good site but little modification needed in layout and color combination. Otherwise it looks good

I think the number one thing which is missing is graphical appeal - i.e. colour and some graphics. There is lots of content, but nothing that really grabs your attention and kind of shouts what the site is about. Our site has the same issue, and we'll do a bit of a homepage redesign over the next month or so.
I like your theme and colors. Only recommendation is that long google skyscraper after post, maybe make a little horizontal one and more content under it.

Perhaps changing font-style to some more artsy could bring additional flavor for the site to feel more comely, it seems as if it's 'arial', pretty 'sharp' font-style, logo horserides.org is made with lively fonts, in that sense some more 'spirit-full' font-style, even if it's 'Times New Roman', would match the overall impression of pleasantness the site seemingly aims to give away. Nice use of green color, perhaps gray font-color instead of the default black could blend in with the color scheme nicely, green color relaxes, gray appears softer than black.
As said before more Imagery will only help, the green maybe should be changed to a darker or extremely lighter tone, with the font color changed. The links for the different Horse Diseases are also broken or you havent finished yet. But keep up the good work.
