Hey all, I have rescently been doing some SEO for a few pages, specifically this one page. it had a URL with no keywords, and it needed meta love and strong tags on specific terms. I proceeded to make the changes, and saved the filename so it would be keyword rich, and relevant. I then goto google and search for what i am targetting, i am still the #2 result, however it is my old URL. How long will it take for this to change? And will google punish me as the content was pretty much the same, but with a new filename and the previous page deleted. I should have put a redirct, i still might, just worried about google thinking im doing duplicate content or something. Thanks
If you go for 301 redirect, Google will not punish you and redirects does not mean duplicate content.
