That might not have been a paid review and sometimes(I am clutching at straws here) a negative review can be a good one because reverse psychology comes into play and people wan't to see if they can prove the reviewer wrong.

Can't agree more. Would you want associate with someone who is banned by GOOGLE? No way! Stay out and save your $400 :D

If you are too desparate for those 1-2 day traffic surge, pay 5 cents for each stumble that will prolly give more traffic and long lasting hehe.

    think logically before investing.

its exposure, that is the only reason why advertisers pay hi 400$ because he gives an honest review. for example one recent was andrewtalk.com I think it was and he stole blog post from johnchow and he wrote a mean review for the site, that 400$ went to waste

on the other hand the other reviews are mostly positive - and its great exposure for the upcoming blogs or advertising

in my opinion john chow blog is more of a commercial blog now - it rarely provides tips as when he first started

.edu has no weight over .com's anways. I'd spent 400$ on linkbuilding or SERP's.

I seriously think that JohnChow is decreasing the quality of his site with all those reviews that he does. He basically only posts to write a paid review.

Yeah specially for grammar mistake on his review to jordan blog

Jordan did managed to make ten posts in March but the following month
    Code (markup):
    I think it should be

    Jordan did manage

With those 400$ I can just buy loads of advertising clicks and get the exposure that I need

also a review won't work to get traffic unless you have a site that if offering content (and continuously updated content) to build a reader base

Ok, We all agree it's not worth it for SEO - let's move on.

Not one person mentioned his target audience... I am at a loss for words. The Target Audience is the best determination for whether a campaign is worth it or not.

John Chow has a large following of bloggers, webmasters and entrepreneurs who all share one thing in common. They want to make money online. Not only does he have a large following, but people often quote him on other blogs, which only helps spread his reach.

If you don't have a real business or big website, of course it's a waste of money.

If you can tell me a better place to reach those people, I'm listening.

It use to be $250 at one time I believe.

Besides if he does review your site and leaves a negative review. People will still visit the site regardless.

What the saying? Even negative response is still a response. Something like that. People will still stay tuned in. One still can get traffic etc.

His $400 price is not too high, however the problem I see with most sites is that they aren't ready for the "john chow effect". A lot of sites are prematurely getting those $400 reviews, and not monetizing the upsurge in traffic. 3/4's of those sites really have no biz getting those paid reviews. If you have a good product that you are selling, and is priced high enough - John Chow will do wonders for you. If you have a product that sucks, he will chew you up.

As far as being banned from Google etc, google is not the end all be all.

I wouldn't go for a review of my site for $400, however it does seems to be worthy anyways.

Lol, somebody is having a bad day :D

I find some of John's posts good. Some of them are good, and the ones I don't like - I'm feel to ignore. I follow the "take you what you want, and leave the rest" philosophy with anyone's wisdom. There's always something to learn from practically anyone.
