I wish to ask this question to all of you? How many directory backlinks(Listings in other directories) are there to your directory ? Post a rough estimate of it.
How can we know this thing normally? Just check out the yahoo way which shows - 308591 Backlinks for Gii Web Directory

Also I am thinking of a quality rank for website and directories which will be based upon the quality of listings in a directory
Snoop's 17,000 Links I actually have at least 5 times that amount that Yahoo hasn't indexed yet... the slowpoke bastages!
Some one has given red for me (I do n't care about it) I like to tell one thing to all of you here If you are not going to submit directories ,then you are going to be a sure loser. (As the directory will not be indexed)
Just go into Google Webmaster Tools (sign up, if you haven't already) and see the listing of links that point to your site. You could make a rough estimate of what percentage of the links shown there are from directories. best, Denise
At present about 15% of our links are from other directories. I was actually pretty surprised when I found this statistic just now, as I thought the percentage would be much higher. And, it may be higher soon, as we've been promoting Indie Coffeehouse to directories pretty heavily over the past week. But, for now, the other 85% are from other indie arts-related sites. A lot of creative folks - especially artists & crafters - link back to us, and many give us free sitewides on their blogs or websites. (Our "link to us" page, with its buttons & banners, has been a godsend.) For some reason the indie craft community has no problem with linking back to the sites that link to them - even though we never ask for it. I think it's easier to get non-directory backlinks to a niche directory, than to a general directory. cheers ~ Denise
