Page 1 on Google in 1 Week

Good idea, computers have basic calculators built in so a site really isnt needed. Also the rank will most likely drop, so best idea is to get rid of it.

I'm sure that the fact that you have your keywords in the domain name helps a lot (Google loves domain name keywords, I'm sure of that), but specifically what else did you do to market it? Front page in a week is quite remarkable.

I'm selling this site... I have no interest in calculators...just wanted to test my SEO abilities

search "decrypt md5" or "md5 encryption" in Google...my site is #1 =))

 

I've seen it happen 1,000 times, Google often gives new sites or pages an initial boost. In this case i was correct again, the site has dropped from #1 to #5 for the term.

basic calculator was always at #5

it never reached #1 thats why the thread says page 1, not number 1

 

Actually it was #1 when i first checked it.

 

I'm 100% it wasn't... It is my site and if it was #1, I would have said #1 not page 1

But who knows, thats good if I was #1 (but most likely I wasnt)

 

Congrats..it is nice when hard work pays off. I am not sure who would search for the term "basic calculator" though. Still, a great accomplishment!!

 

My recent new site did great in G for its first few weeks... then it disappeared... then it reappeared in the same old spots about 3-4 weeks later. So perhaps expect a change... but don't sweat it... give it time to see if it bounces back.

True it was, just depends what datacenter is pulling the results when you do a query as they vary alot.

For instance i'm beating Aaron Wall's Seobook.com for the term "SEO" on a number of datacenters at the moment, yet on others i'm about #20 spots behind him.

 

I got "vbulletin skins" in a week.

 

I am getting it at #3 at the mo
