Is there an auto ping plug-in for Wordpress?

I was making my rounds on the forums I visit, and had a thought as I was in a thread about pinging. Does wordpress have an addon that will auto ping? I would have to think that they do!

 

Default installation of WordPress already autopings http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ under Options>Writing>Update Services.

 

hi sarahhk, try http://autopinger.com. It does pinging for your blogs and podcasts AUTOMATICALLY where you don't even have to keep track of your ping list. We have it all.

What do you mean by autoping? Wordpress automatically pings everytime your post...

 

Like to find a huge ping list I mean there has got to be 1000's of ping site to ping too ..

its good to ping to thousand site. but do you know that your site could be banned because of that. i used to ping 100 of site to make my posting visible but at the end my site that have pr4 drop to no ranking. Its because one of the site declared me as a spam. you still can ping to a list of site, but make sure you install a ping optimizer plugin. i use this plugin now. hxxp://www.maxblogpress.com/plugins/mpo/

Another tool that I have used on my Wordpress blogs is called Autobuzzer from a website name BlogBuzzer.com. It is a snippet of html code that automatically submits your blog on a preset basis.

 

Do you have to register with all sites you want to ping?

 

No. Wordpress automatically pings pingomatic by default (Settings/Writting), and you can also add your own. Or use the Maxblogpress plugin.

Thanks, i use standalone WP site on own domain, i still cannot get if i can use ping services without registration on pinged sites... Can someone clearly explain pinging system and registartions on the sites?

I simply cannot imagine i will send ping to digg and they will accept my post without digg account...

 

This may be a bit off-topic, but there's this great plugin that "pings" all your posts. It's called WP Onlywire poster. It automatically sends your posts to several social bookmarking websites like facebook, digg, reddit... and so on.
