I have the maximum amount of ads allowed on a site and I was wondering if you could check my site and tell me if I crowded my site with too many ads in the wrong place or if this is acceptable and it won't damage a visitors over all perspective of my site. The link at the top of my signature is the site I'm talkin about Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Move the ads up. It doesn't look too crowded because most of them are hidden down towards the bottom. You don't need to move them all up, but at least the skyscraper in the right sidebar should come up towards the top. That single box down at the bottom seems very unnecessary, I doubt that gets many clicks at all.
Your ads blend in pretty well, but there are no ads at the top, where the newest post will be displayed. Most readers will come to your site for the newest post, therefore they won't be able to see the ads when they read your site, and they'll leave. This will amount in a loss of money for you if you don't fix it. Other than that, I'd advise you get a domain and move to it. You can still continue to use blogspot, and still have a domain. If you don't want a domain right now, then I understand. I myself am waiting to buy a domain for my own blog until I get about 50 more posts.
thanks for the info. you say I should move the skyscraper ad on the right up, how high up? before all of the post columns? also you say I should move to a new domain. Do you honestly believe this site has any real potential, or at least enough to get domain name? I've been debating lately if I should start a new site similiar to this one on a host that I pay for with a domain name. Do you think this site has a chance to survive in the wild web? One last question: If I registered my current blogspot site under a new domain name, what happens to the old URL? and all the backlinks it already has?
If you use the blogspot 'custom domain' option, the old url will redirect to your new domain, and search engines should find it automatically with no back link love lost.
With the skyscraper, the thing I noticed was that on some of the sites you had to scroll down farther then the article to get to the ads. I would find the annoying, also the area to the left of the skyscraper is filled in with white. Ugh, so move your skyscraper up until it is beside your content rather then below it.
Hello, Too much advertisement blocks in the web page may cause visitors bored if they are using slow internet connection and then will ignore to browse your web page. Thanks Mayur Gondaliya
