I have a website that I'm thinking about dumping a considerable amount of money in. I feel it has potential to make a lot of money, but I don't have the knowlege and know-how to get it to it's potential. So what I'm wanting to know, is how much will it take to get a site like this to making a couple thousand a month? Site Link I would like honest answers, because I am very serious about doing this. I'm tired of just dabbling in internet marketing and business, and am ready to jump in and start trying to make serious cash with this. I see all kinds of people making big money every month on the internet, and want to get to that point. Everyone tells me that finding a good person to do SEO and marketing work on the site will make the site skyrocket, but nobody wants to give me an idea of how much money I'll be looking at to do it. Thanks for anyone's help that would like to give it.
Very hard to make money on paid to site. I also do not think adsense allows ads on the site. I might be wrong but i would not have adsense on the site you could get banned.
Stop spamming n00b. Hmm, You would be looking at around $200 - 400 IMHO. I'd recommend not making a Pay to Surf/Click site because 1) You have to spend a lot of time in it 2) You don't get much out of it 3) There are practically hundreds and thousands of them, all offering the same thing.
Seem to me you are trying to make big bucks out of it. I would be honest, you need lot more work to be done on the site itself like making it more appealing etc. I don't know how much you already built, but you gonna need quite a few modules to build. Advertiser panel, Search ads, ....... If you do the work in USA it can cost you anywhere from 50,000-150,000$ for a quality work. If you looking for marketing on this existing site, I would say go easy on your money.
Don't take this the wrong way, but it's a pretty ugly site and no matter how good the SEO is your going to have a huge bounce rate. Heard the saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink"? Well you can drive traffic to it, but you won't make them stay or convert in it's current form. I'd take half your SEO budget and throw it in to a killer design, and make it more user friendly. The site doesn't even explain what it's about, only fairly tech savvy people would understand the principal of the thing... So there goes 98% of the internet population as potential users/return visitors before we even get to the sign up stage.
You need to build trust first with a professional design. I will personally leave your site after seeing the first page.. Do not spend any money on advertisement of a site like this.. SEO cost depends on the terms you will target. To find out about the terms you need to use http://inventory.overture.com PM me if you need more help... Thanks..
if i were you, i dont start a web site like that. because there are big boys on ads sector. it's so difficult to start making money from your web site
First you need to get your site to look more proffesional, now it looks a bit amature, while you are doing that, write a bit content to the site, its very "naked" right now. Then subbmit to dirs, DMOZ, Yahoo, and get a few high pr links.
Wow, thanks everyone. That's the kind of stuff I needed to hear. What kind of re-design should I do? Should I just hire someone who knows design and programming and have them re-do it for me? Will that make a difference on the income potential? Or would I be better off to sell this site and re-invest the money into something else?
Its gonna be very difficult for you find a "programmer who is good in graphics design". Thats a rare thing. Lot of times programmers pretend they know graphics design, but most of the time, thats not the case. (I myself is a programmer by the way, I am not good on that either ) Your best option is hiring a graphics designer, and a programmer separate. Before you hire somebody do your research what functionality you wanna have. Or you can pick some good people from DP also. There are quite a few good ones here.
can I ask you chaps, what exactly does the OP's site do ? I've seen up to 2 other similar sites Webcosmo mentions adbrite
Do not invent the wheel...Just follow the biggest guys in your industry ...They already spent tons of money on their sites... McDonald's spends tons of money on feasibility studies to open new stores.. Burger King just follows McDonald's, and open its new stores close to McDonald's locations..... Free feasibility
