This week my new blog was hit with 150,000 uniques in 5 days from sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, delicious etc.

Interestingly the traffic from Google shot up at exactly the same time.

More details including Google analytics data:
Getting on Digg increases Google traffic in real time

traffic from social network is good for seo because you get links, but is converting very bad.

Burton hosting is a linkbait (trick/scam) owned by a viral marketing agency. The web host 2.0 experiment was b**s**t.

Digg's link do not have "no-follow" so if you hit the front page just around google crawling I see this happening. I would still be working on getting some solid backlinks from other websites.

The web 2.0 experiment was a pretty clever piece of marketing IMO.

You call them a scam and yet they managed to keep my site on a cheap shared host up while it was on the front page of digg 3 times in a week.

Burton hosting is just a host who employed the services of a very clever seo company. You can't say they are owned by a viral marketing agency.
