There is no time limit on mine... I filled out my form and waited over 30 minutes and it still worked ok
As a submitter...I completely understand how frustrating this can be. I have corrected my directories with the code provided by tdoggy...thank you. How I deal with it in Internet Exploder: Go to and click: Tools > Internet Options > Content > AutoComplete > check Forms > Ok > Apply > Ok This does not fix the problem, but at least 90% of the info you entered into the Submit pages will be stored. Now the next time you get booted out of a submit page, just go back to the form, and in each form field (except descriptions), click your Down Arrow button to see what you have previously entered. You won't have to enter Urls, emails, or your name ever again. (Note: some forms/directory software is different, but this works for most directories)
Actually it happened to me a few times. I was submitting to 5-6 directories at once, filled everything up and got distracted by phone. When I came back all sessions expired. It was very frustrating.
I think you can create a simple text file. write the unique titles, URLs, descriptions, and keywords in the text file. then copy and paste it to the submission form when you are ready to submit your site. That way you can take all the time you need and avoid time out problem. Title URL Description Name Email ..... You can also save the information for subsequent submission.
Of course, I do already have such a file, as well as autofill settings. However, I take the time to slightly re-write the descriptions and put links in random order for every submission. It is during that period that the timeout occurs.
Whatever you want...120 will give them two hours, or 1440 will give them a full day. Actually, I think two hours is probably more than enough.
If you look back at the phpld thread Dawzz is saying he is not sure that this is what needs to be modified to fix the submit page time-out problem, so waiting for Boby to chime in.
Well I just tried it on a test directory, left it sitting for about 15 minutes or so and it worked. Thing is though, I happened to have captcha on and there seems to be a timeout on the captcha, but the form returned filled at least. But yeah, when I turned off captcha, it worked at about 15 minutes.
I mostly faced this problem on a non phpLD script. never knew phpLD also implemented this but one thing is for sure ... it truly sucks big time....
The problem with my f orm is that with deeplinks, people try to screw me by selecting featured and not paying, entering 5 deeplinks, and not paying. Should I edit these, ban them? Also, anybody know how I can disable the fields for some of these?
