Craigslist plays games with you for false page views!

Now I understand that craigslist is cutting down on spam(so they say) but I see spam all over it.

My ads don't make it. If I'm banned they should say so.
But I'm sure most of you do what I do after placing an ad.

We look for it don't we. While we look the site still gets page views.

There is no other reason to let someone look for an ad that is not going to go live, except to get the page views and a good laugh. I started a blog about it http://heycraignewmark.blogspot.com/

I was reading his help forum, a user asked "is anybody with services getting good ads up" the help replied "yeah just not trolls like you".

Man, that was crazy. Does he expect to keep his users coming back?

Are there other sites similar to craigslist to post?

Are you including links in your posts? Some times when I post ads with links they don't stay up but when I don't include links they always stay up.

I'm seeing some odd issues myself, I post for my consulting company every day its a simple ad with an image and some text links, these ads make it every day.

I have also been posting for a customer's mortgage and real estate company it seems that craigslist.com approves the ads I get the email, click my confirmation link and the ad goes green, however I'd say 50% of the time it never shows up in the listings under "Real Estate" or Financial .

Seems to be some odd stuff happening there.

    Hmm,

Craigslist is a pretty reputable site, I can't believe they would do something like this. Looks like the traffic and the status are getting to their head.

Yes, there are many alternatives to craigslist. The owner of ebay just started a classified site, its called Kijiji.

Its harder for a big site like craigslist manage posts to keep it usable for everybody. So they automated the process of spam detection quite a bit. And in the process some legit ads got caught for no reason.

You guys may try my classified site http://www.webcosmo.com Links allowed. Its free for all categories, all cities. There no limit on number of ads. Just don't post same ad same day on different locations of the same country. Currently there are 38 countries with 98% US, UK cities listed.
